new collector need help

i am a new collector and i really like the thrill of opening packs
i dont know what boxes i should buy and which one the will give me the most money back
please post your favorite boxes and the boxes that have the most resale value

Depends what kinds of hits like and how much $$ you want to spend, for ROI Pete Rose and Rookie Retro seem pretty solid. However others are more fun to open IMO.

hi, welcome to blowout.

most people here are into bowman chrome, draft, and a bunch of other random products. we basically all open everything just about. best box for your money, just pick what you like and roll with it. what do you like to collect?

bowman has the best resale value, IMO, a big auto is hard to hit but they sell well, and some of the lesser auto's jump when a player gets hot or sustains a career for a couple years, garnering fans and collectors alike. bowman is like blue chip stocks.

on card auto's are the way to go

my favorite break in 2011 was bowman chrome and draft... did very well in each.
people on here swear by topps series one for a rip-n-flip... i don't have the patience.

find a local hobby shop and buy some boxes there, start up a conversation and become a returning customer, it will go a long way, as far as selling local teams pulls out of the store's display for considerably more than ebay. the bigger hits should go right on ebay at .99 auction... keep shipping under $2.75 and combine for multiple cards.

you'll figure it out, but don't get to rip-happy many people go broke doing this if they get way ahead of themselves. it happened to me once... never again.

So are you a collector or looking to resell? Sounds more like you want to rip and flip because you like opening wax. If thats the case open products when they are newly released and list it right away for the best return.

If you are looking for good resale value....yes. I would get Elite Extra Edition since it just released.

i will say do not order elite....

jumbo bowman's are OK, when you get them at $90.

draft is still selling well, chrome is hit or miss good auto's are cases apart usually.
