While trolling around I just found this funny.

Since you do not like his vision of your card are you saying he is VERY blind, but also VERY intelligent?

That is a nice compliment. I can feel the love

I think the Harper is centered better than your Red Sox card redsox2011. The Harper doesnt look horrible to me but off a little bit.

There's no shame in quoting Oscar Wilde or something. Leave the homegrown zingers to the big boys.
Allow me to extrapolate in layman's terms:

Thou art as blind, as thou thinketh thou art intelligent.

Get it yet? Probably not. Sigh. Flattering facetiously is such a chore around here.

But, hey, at least now I better understand why professional writers are told to write to the twelve-year old mind, so as not to confuse anyone, esp. the "big boys." (Note: "Esp." = especially.)

I don't see anything wrong with the centering on this Harper actually.

Yes, both are off in one direction, if not the Harper in two. At best Harper is 9.5 centering, and Doubront is clearly a 9.5. That's all. More fun with BGS "pro" grades is all. I assume, and I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt, that they don't give a rip about the subs and are more concerned with overall grades.

For whatever reason, people here seem to notice L/R centering more easily than T/B. Hence, I rotated the Doubront. A gem centered card on the front needs to be 50-50 one way, and 55/45 or better the other. On back: 65/35 or better all around. Beckett Media LP

It's a joy listening to people make excuses for the scans on the Harper and Taillon, yet no such excuses exist for the Doubront. More comedy for the belly. I enjoy it. Hope some others do too.

I also agree with Stump about how there are instances where the cards need to be in hand to know for sure on centering. However, the opposite is also true-- sometimes in hand the card looks perfect, but on a blown-up scan, imperfections are far more obvious. I imagine at least some of you would agree with this?

Cheers.

You are the only one on these boards that has cards centered well enough to be BGS 10's. I think that was established many threads ago.

I don't either. Often the shadows from the casing make cards look off centered when not in hand. I am hard on BGS like others some times, but in this case, nope....

Stump could be right, you may need that Harper in hand-- it's a close call. But the scan makes it look off. Either way, it is what it is with a grading company: they are as subjective as the rest of us.
