That's an awesome card, congrats! But it also makes us all realize Topps got caught with a hand in the cookie jar. There was no denying that screw up! Makes you question their integrity, and from where I come from, that's everything. Glad you were able to call them on it, count this as a victory for the collector. just my (little more than) 2 cents. ps. and no I won't stop buying topps products because I'm a card junkie like the rest of you, but I will call them out...

In my opinion, they should have cut the entire relic frames and the "Game-Used Memorabilia" totally off.

Looks weird with it saying "Game-Used Memorabilia" under an autograph.

I was just coming to say, even after the fact, that beautiful card, still has a glaring eff up on it...I mean don't get me wrong, it's still a great card, but that's just lazy on topps' part.

If I would've pulled that card I would've put it on eBay with a buy it now of $100,000 just so everyone saw Topps screwup-and if they wanted to buy it for $100,000 I would've been fine with that.

If they did it for such a HUGE card, they most likely have done it for lower end stuff....right?

Perhaps sir. Perhaps. Its all a crapshoot at this point with some card companies.

I know of a panini card that features a player from the fifties. It has a "GAME WORN" Jersey... from the fifties. Sept the material is painted on and in a style that simply could not be used in a game back then lol.

I actually sent the card to panini and they slabbed it and sent a coa stating it was worn in a game.
I still think its a great card. But not gu from when he played. Just something to think about I guess.

But I also "try" to collecr Muhammad Ali autographs who has more fakes than authentics.

Its all a crapshoot. Probally shouldn't be if the card sais its authentic. Is what it is?

BS...its all a PR Stunt by Topps. I have seen a lot of errors on other high end cards and many people on here have said Topps won't fix them.

Agree 100%. Just looks like another mistake to me. Will a future generation think it's an altered card? Is it an altered card, even if done by Topps?

What was Topps trying to get away with when they made the original Gehrig card with the modern era jerseys? This is far from a casual mistake. Not sure how you trust a company to put a real Gehrig cut into the replacement card after the stunt they pulled with the original.

Really? Topps is going to go to all that trouble to include an ultra-rare bat knob and then PURPOSELY skip out on an authentic jersey? No way. If they were going to do it on purpose, they'd stick in an older looking piece from a crappy player.
