A busted prospect being waived? Not a big deal.

Kid was never healthy. Regardless of where he ends up, he needs to be healthy and that has been difficult for him

I think the point is the Nimmo does not deserve to be ridiculed just because the Mets picked him up. He's a person like the rest of us. If you don't think he's going to be any good, don't invest in him.

I detect a small amount of racism in that "good kid, good family" stuff. I have never heard one thing about Alex Escobar or Fernando Martinez having personal problems. Escobar was the victim of a torn ACL and Fernando has an arthritic knee. I guess that leaves Lastings Milledge, who has such a horrible family that they followed him around in camper to watch him play.

I know nothing about Escobar, Martinez or Milledge personally, but you detect incorrectly. I went to college with Brandon's older sister (she married pne of my college roommates), I saw the kid growing up, I know the family, and I'm pretty sure he will be fine.

Will he be a MLB superstar? I hope so, but we know the odds aren't good, especially with the Mets track record. I'd be worried about injuries considering how brilliant the Met medical staff is.

Also, I do remember articles about Milledge being a disciplinary problem.

Not you or FMart.

Sincere apologies if you took it the wrong way.

You still haven't established how the previous 3 Mets did not come from a good family.

And this was a product of being the son of a police officer who went to all of his games in an RV?

I didn't say that they didn't come from a good family. You were inferring something that I wasn't implying.

I know nothing about Escobar, Martinez, Ochoa, or any of the other failed Mets prospects, but I know of this kid. That is all.

Trying to find racism in everything, even were there is none.

For the record, I can't remember the last time I talked about racism, much less mentioned it on these boards. I'll just take it on face value that you think the kid has a chance at being a big leaguer because you like his family. It just seemed funny that it was your reason as a foil to the previous 3 non-whites, without any explanation that the quality of their family was a contributing factor in their failures as a baseball player. Hope there are no hard feelings.

This was the last time you spoke of racism.

I'll assume though that like me, there was nothing meant by it. I'm pulling for the kid.

Fernando Martinez knocked up my sister. As for my family we don't think much of him since his checks from Topps have dried up.

UHH.... No kidding that was the last time I mentioned racism, that was a comment related to you saying that I was "Trying to find racism in everything"
I was stating that this as the first time I ever mentioned racism on these boards.

I don't understand why you would quote my original post in this thread as your evidence of me finding racism in everything. Strange.

I'll take it at face value that you didn't mean anything by it.
