I read he had a sprained Groin. I am having an ok break . . . got nothing to brag about in the Bowman Sterling. 2nd to last box of Bowman Sterling I pulled a Lawrie base Redemption auto. Was pretty psyched!!!!! Then I looked him up and read he had a sprained groin. I was thinking he would probably be out for at least four weeks. A groin injury lingers for a while.

Lawrie returns today against the Red Sox! In the meantime, here's a good read from Jayson Stark at ESPN.com...

That Is a Pretty nice write up about him. Maybe a lil over the top with the brewers being sO young, but confidence is always needed. When I met him at spring training he seemed very humble and down to earth to me. He signed autographs for everybody who asked him. If you asked him to do multiples he ssaid sure no problem. Took time to take pictures with people. And after he signed for you (if you said thank you) he said your welcome no problem.

For me to compare himto the biggest name in prospect baseball Bryce Harper, Lawrie blows him away with how he handles himself. I have never heard of a bad story with Lawrie with a fan meeting him. Granted mine was only a one time basis, but the young man reall stood out to me. I have gone to watch and Harper on 8 different occasions and been around him when it was just me and 2 other people and he was no wear near what Lawrie was. No pictures, only signed one ( wich is fine with me) and would not barely look at you or talk to you.
I have met a lot of the young talent over the past 5 years and he really seemed to me to be the mOst down to earth big name prospect of them all. Not that my say means much but I wish Brett Lawrie nothing but the best luck and really think he has the tOtal package with skills, leadership, and treats fans the correct way.

Awesome post, jv25!

If it makes any sense, I think Brett Lawrie is much more of a kid enjoying the game compared to Harper. I think that might be one of the biggest differences in terms of attitudes, Harper sees it more of a business than a game.

Not that I know either of them, at all, but that is my perception

I agree- watching the two of them out on the field, its just a diffrent look/feeling. To me Harper is out there to make the money, and be the biggest name out there. He has already made that clear even before he got drafted that he is all buisness and excpects to be in the HOF. Seing him in person playing, he doesnt ever seem to interact and mess with his teamates, he seemed to almost seclude himself. Or maybe the team secludes there self from him. Harper looks miserable to me, no joking and messing with team mates and stuff like that. Watching Lawrie seems like he is loose and out there to have fun messing with team mates at smilling. But who really ever knows what goes on when the crowds and cameras are not there.
