Default What are your favorite Stadium giveaways?

So, one of the great things about baseball is the various giveaways they do at stadiums.

I've been to more baseball games than I can remember and for the most part I always save the giveaways

I wanted to share some of my personal favorites....with pictures of course!

^Cowbell thingy, they were super annoying to hear, but tons of fun to bang at all game long

BOBBLEHEADS!!!.....here are some of my favorites including, Josh Beckett, Luis Castillo, Chris Coghlan, and a Miguel Cabrera MINI

Finally, my favorite giveaway of all time....

Nice, I was at the Harper Debut, and they gave out 'duel' bobbleheads with 2 people on it, Maury Wills, and don drysdale? Yeah, I think thats right.

Mini Stadiums and Bobbleheads are nice, but they usually lead to huge pre-game crowds/lines which I do not want to take part of.

Bobbleheads without a doubt. The ones they give away in KC are always high quality - none of that cheap $1.00 plastic junk.

O's give away nice bobbleheads. This year we get statues of all 6 HOF's.

The most disappointing day was when they gave away Reimold Bobbleheads in May, and he was already back in the minors b/c of his sub .100 batting average.

I also love Tshirt Tuesdays (now tshirt thursdays). My non-workday wardrobe often consists of a free Orange Tshirt from the stadium.

My favorite is when the Yankees give out full-size bats to fans fourteen and younger. Initially, I thought this was a very bad idea: why would you give small children something they could swing, drop, hit people with, etc.? I was relieved to learn that my fears were unsubstantiated: "Impact of Yankee Stadium Bat Day on blunt trauma in northern New York City". The sight of little kids walking around while trying to hold unwieldy bats the length of their bodies was super cute though!

LOL, it almost makes you think that the only reason certain people are going to the game is for a free bobblehead

It's always cool to get free stuff, but at the end of the day, the best part of going to a game is watching the "national pastime"

The SGA Bobbleheads are huge in the Cincy area. Lots of people collect them all and some sell for good money

They do still have Bat Day at Yankee Stadium.

They aren't quite full size, but in no way are the "mini".

I have a closet full of random giveaway crap from my Red Sox days. I really should go through it one of these days to see if there is anything of value from back in the day!

Yeah they do. It was maybe four or five years ago when I first went. The bats looked pretty big—like the size of my softball bat—but probably not as big as a Major Leaguer's bat.

I don't know why they don't switch to mini bats. It would be much less expensive to produce, ship, store, distribute, etc. Maybe there's a strategic reason behind it, like they figure small children won't be able to throw a big, heavy bat very far or swing it hard enough to inflict bodily harm. Watch they switch to mini bats and blunt trauma incidences in NYC go up after Bat Day.

That study cracks me up, totally wish I could think up awesome projects like that.

This was one of my favorites!

When Bert Blyleven was inducted into the MLB HOF the Twins gave away this poster to everyone in the stadium.

I just happen to own the original painting the poster was modeled after.

I just measured mine from 2008.

30" / 24oz

Looks to be one of the largest size youth wood bats.

So two inches shorter and four ounces heavier than my softball bat. I always wanted one of those bats. It's kind of the reverse of the you-must-be-this-tall-to-ride-this-carnival-ride problem. **sighs**

Good to know...thanks for doing this!

When I was a kid the Mets gave away real baseball sites (full-size, not minis) sponsored by Pizza Hut. They're heavy and pretty awesome. Unfortunately one has cracked but the other still looks good.

A couple of years ago the Mets gave away a Shea snowglobe. Since then...have two Mets bobbleheads, a $5 dunkin donuts gift card, a metro card, two Jason Bay bobbleheads (lol, waste) and some other small things.

Found the bat on ebay!
