Ginter Code- 2012 edition

So, I figured I would bring this up in the forums because of the following it causes after the products release. I must admit, I do not enjoy the A & G product, but I have always loved the "crack the code" contest they do each year. I typically do not participate in trying to crack it, but instead choose to read about how someone figured it out once it happened; however, this year, I am going for it. Hahah.

So is anyone else trying it? Or even care? Lol

Considering the fact that I do not plan on buying much of the product, I have a snowballs chance in hell; however I will try nonetheless.


I am surprised though- With retail being live, I have not seen any 2012 crack the code cards or anything like that on ebay or anywhere else yet. Interesting

We need to get this thread going with scans of the code cards, front and back. I know there is a guy or two here on the forums who wouldnt mind working together. If so, scan it! haha. We have no chance probably, but you never know!

I think the code cards are more common this year than last (1 per hobby case). so it might be easier? BrentAndBecca tweeted a picture of one clue card: Ginter code cards http://img.ly/kAbC - img.ly. May try to buy a scan from him of a complete set when he puts them on ebay later tonight.

That isn't the front and back. One is the front of the promo.

The "code" cards from last year were not 1 per case. You needed the whole set. Same in 2010.

I believe the code cards are used to assemble some sort of newspaper article, which talks about the death of one of the characters. If anyone has some scans of the newspaper article that we could piece together in the forum, I think everyone would appreciate it!

garpike those cards are promo cards unless they feature part of a newspaper clipping on the back. just an fyi in case youre looking to figure out the mystery.

Those are not the promo cards, blowe. The one with the guy holding a mug in a chair is the promo card.

Im sorry Idk why I kept typing promo cards, but the case files themselves do not tell you much (at least not so far). the backs of them, which have the newspaper swatches, would be the first step in my opinion

the code cards are going to sell like crazy the first few days on ebay. hopefully someone will get some scans so normal people without hundreds of bucks laying around could get in on the chase

Just trying to help out...I love the game "Clue" and this year seems to be following in it's footsteps.

A lot. I have my portion of the 2010 take and have yet to sell or trade any. I think the only other one that has been sold from our 2010 set was the Strasburg.

yeah, I am definitely looking forward to trying to crack this thing for the first time. I feel like it has a "clue-like" feel to it as well.
