Cool cards, kind of funny though considering many of these players didn't necessarily have "longevity."

I very rarely see them. Good job picking it up. I wish I knew where a Caminiti was.

All I need for my complete set of these is the Nomo Z-Axis. Haven't seen one hit the market in well over 10 years. I seriously wonder how many were destroyed in the tsunami that hit japan. I figure most copies of it are overseas.

That's a great point. I never even thought of that. I was just watching videos of that tsunami last weekend. Really sad. I couldn't imagine all of my belongings being swept away like that.

@Athletics07, nice 98 Longevity cards. those are tought.

Did you happen to pick up any Pedro Martinez or Mike Piazza cards from that set?

I actually have the Piazza PT and the Piazza Marlins cards. I have seen 4 or 5 of the latter pop up on ebay over the last 3 years, but none of his Dodger or Mets variation.

If you did I would be interested in chatting!

Got the Alex Rodriguez in today, closing the book on the Series 1 Set. It would seem based on availability that there was A LOT less series 2 busted back in the day...

1997 Leaf Fractal Matrix Gold Die-Cut Series 1 Set
(5) - X-Axis /400, (10) - Y-Axis /200, (25) - Z-Axis /100

I am still missing the following Series 2 cards, IF ANYONE CAN HELP!:

#203 Mike Piazza Gold Y-Axis (GY) Die-Cut
#205 Ryne Sandberg Gold Z-Axis (GZ) Die-Cut
#208 Roger Clemens Gold Z-Axis (GZ) Die-Cut
#241 Andres Galarraga Gold Z-Axis (GZ) Die-Cut
#242 Rondell White Gold Z-Axis (GZ) Die-Cut
#299 David Justice Gold Z-Axis (GZ) Die-Cut
#319 Jose Guillen Gold Z-Axis (GZ) Die-Cut
#337 Karim Garcia Gold Z-Axis (GZ) Die-Cut - (Listed as SZ on all checklists)
#360 Hideo Nomo LG Gold Z-Axis (GZ) Die-Cut

This set is largely misunderstood and a lot of these are just sitting in somebody's junk pile somewhere. If you see any, ever, give me a holler.

LOL, I know, what an idea!!

Why do I feel like card companies have regressed? With all the advancements in technology since this set, it's amazing that the one thing to seems so elusive now is getting an on-card autograph (outside of a $300+ pack product).
