The Nationslas have 10 hits and 6 runs tonight, meaning Turner still would have had a bad outing.

Turner isnt anywhere near the NL ROY voting.

Todd Frazier should the 2012 NL Rookie of the Year, but gets no respect. Age doesn't matter, he is having a better year and will end up losing to Harper because everyone is on the Harper bandwagon.

possibly, but everyone had their money dumped on Brien Taylor. I think he is signing autos through the NC state Prison system now.

Didn't think the title of the thread was indicative of ROY discussion. 3 runs of the 6 Harper gets accredited. 6 k's in 5 innings and some very costly hits. He's having a rough start to the Majors. Frazier certainly deserves NL ROY.

Didn't think that the title of the thread was indicitive about Turner being brought up either.

Other than the fact that he's the first pitcher in the Majors to give up two HRs to Bryce in the same game.

You're right. I should have started a poll thread titled "Bryce Goes Yard 2x on Turner! Who Wins ROY?" I really am trying to be lighthearted.
BTW, I've got a Longoria Sticker Auto /25 from '09 Sig Stars. Feel free to PM if you have interest.

....and then he gets thrown out of the game for slamming his helmet after grounding into a dp, says nothing to the umpire and immediately gets ejected. I love how hard he plays the game, but the kid needs to tone it down a bit IMO. Not setting the greatest example throwing his helmet all the time, I could be wrong but I feel like I've seen it a lot this season. And maybe for no other reason than it seems he has a target on his back with umpires, i think his confidence(cockiness) rubs them the wrong way, the strike zone seems to be two inches wider on each side of the plate when he bats. Maybe it's jealousy and they want to keep him grounded. Can't help your team when you get thrown out, be it justified or not

....I could only imagine how cocky I would be if I were him tho. I've actually been impressed with the way he carries himself off the field in interviews and what not.

Yet somehow they say he's going back on the bench once Votto comes back. I think he should be starting over Rolen at this point...

When will people realize that Coors Field is no longer the "best" hitters park in the MLB. The humidor stopped all that. Baby Bull wont win the ROY but hes a solid hitter and a big suck at defense

I think Dusty will find a spot for him. He's already said that he may end up putting Bruce in center if Stubbs continues to be as bad as he's been. If anything Frazier will start at 3rd and Rolen will come in as a late game replacement.

It's still the easiest park to hit in.

I keep seeing this a lot, but I think it's just a knee-jerk reaction. His AB/HR at home is 11.5; away, 15.63. Apply the 15.63 rate to his 161 home ABs, and he would still have 18-19 HRs ... which is impressive for a rookie catcher.

any rookie can make it the the order once. but the second time is the challenge and he didn't hold up gave up two homers to Harper. Ian Desmond fly out would have been a homer in any other park. and Michael Morse's triple was in deep center that would have been four rows up the stands in any other field. so after that. i would disagree that he had a good night.

Much like you ask where all the haters have been, after Harper does good. The Haters might ask where you've been until yesterdays game..It goes both ways.

I should of said somewhat inflated. The ball still flies out of there. The kid is good, and is good away from Coors as well. Now tell that idiot freaking manager of theirs to put him ahead of Ramon Hernandez for god sakes. Team is such a mess, they need to clean house in the offseason.

Not to take anything away from Frazier -- he's helping to lead me to a fantasy win -- but when Frazier was 19, Harper was in 6th grade!

Frazier will probably win ROY, but Harper is having a much more impressive season IMO.

nice to see him start to make some adjustments last week

11 for his last 38 now, not super great, but thats .289

7 of his last 11 hits have been XBH, 4 homers, 2 doubles, 1 triple

He definitely seems like a streaky hitter to say the least. There have been a couple of "flashes" of play that have been very impressive this season. If he ever becomes consistent the sky is the limit.
