It was because he felt like he wasn't going anywhere, he was doing great in Rookie league and Low A because he was 24. He is opening batting cages and making a team in my town from what ive heard.

Prince Fielder, Zack Greinke, Alex Cobb, Jarrod Saltamacchia, Scott Kazmir, Steve Pearce, James Houser, Neil Wilson, Brian Augustine, Chris Volstad. More that I can't remember, but those are off the top of my head.

Grew up playing in Socal. Played in just about every league in HS Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, Scout fall ball for 3 years, leigon ball for HS team, Area Code games blah blah. College at a now noted D1 school in the OC. Played college summers in the California league. It wasn't the Cape or Alaska but I saw my share of big leaguers. I think the count is up to over 60 guys that I have played with or against that got a taste in the show. Most are retired or getting there. It has been a great decade of watching all these guys play (except A-Rod). It is also depressing as hell when it sinks in how old I am now, and that I could't hit a freaking slider.

I did take James Shields of the Rays (well Hart HS then) deep 2 times in a game in HS. So I guess that's kinda cool.

I played against Abbott while he was at Michigan. What an athlete and to think he did it with only 1 hand! As impressive as he was on the mound, I read somewhere that he hit a bunch of homeruns in high school. I also played with Chris Hoiles (Orioles catcher) at Eastern Michigan and I played in a semi pro league with a bunch of ex pros, Dave Rozema was the most notable. I played with Tim Crabtree (Rangers set up man) one summer while he was still at MSU. I gave up a monster homerun to "Super" Joe Charboneau after he was washed up at Cleveland. Way ahead in the count and I accidentally grooved one - should have kept the ball down in the zone

A good slider is so tough to hit. I struggled with the change

Faced Casey Crosby back in HS in 07. Grounded out to 3rd twice on Curve Balls, then the 3rd time up, just blew me away with low 90's fastballs.

High School ball against Jeremy Jeffress and Jarrett Parker. Jarrett was a nightmare while I was in high school because they always edged us by 1 run my senior year.

I played BASEBALL against Randy Moss in high school. Not much of a player, but he caught everything in centerfield and bunted/stole bases like it was his job

Rich Hummell in accounting.

Had the meanest underhand delivery of any employee during the 3 company picnic softball games.

a lot of the guys in the next years draft and a few guys in 2012 draft. One guy who i liked was Casey Meisner. He is sick on the mound. And clemens kid is not all that great. Some of my friends are going to be starting in college. One for Harvard and one for University of Houston.

not baseball but grew up playing football with 3 people in the NFL, Damik Scafe (Chargers practice squad) Chris Baker (Redskins) and Terrance Knighton (jaguars). Know all 3 personally and Terrance has had the best success so far.
