Arrow Best player you have played against - Baseball

What has been the best player you have played with/against when you played baseball?

I can't tell yet, but people that came from my league is Skaggs and Giolito. One of my friends is great friends the the giolito family, and on of the PE teachers at SAMO HS is skaggs mom...

I played with Jered Weaver growing up all the way through high school. Haven't seen him in a couple of years now but he has become quite a good pitcher. Cool to see him doing well.

I played High School baseball against Jason Jaramillo. Kid was a stud switch hitter in High school!

Baseball - Jason Jennings

Jennings was a beast both as a Pitcher and a Hitter back in High School

Football - Mike Williams (OL), Leonard Davis

Williams was more of just a stopper while Davis was an absolute Beast!!! Davis was the toughest guy I ever faced in High School or College.

Rick Porcello, Billy Rowell, Joe Testa, James Jones, Tyler Townsend, Brett Bach, Ryan Buch, Tom Ebert, Jaren Matthews, Michael Lang, Chris Gloor, Ryan Cueno, Patrick Lehman, Pat Light

These are some of the people I played against in high school and college. All of them are in the minors right now (I believe). Billy Rowell by far had to be one of the best players I have ever seen. All of these guys were nasty. James Jones was digusting. Lang can hit the crap out of the ball. Pat Light was filthy as was Buch (had a crazy deuce). I don't mean to single guys out because they were all very good.

I played against Trout's AAU team in a tournament once, but of course he was playing for his other team in the state championship that same day so he wasn't there. Would've been way cooler had he been there. This is back when we were 12, but even then people around the area knew who he was.

Played with/against quite a few who have gone pro, but Bryce Harper is by far the best I've played against.

Played against Ross Gload in High School. Played with Steve Karsay in winter workouts. Played against Adam Everett in 1997.
Best pitcher I ever played with, Scott Oliver, got hit in the face with a ball, but ended up getting drafted late by the Yankees and drifted away.
Best batter I ever played with, Brian Batson, always wonder what happened to him. He had monster power and an extremely quick bat. I thought for sure he would have went pro.

I grew up in Simi as well, probably a bit before your time, but during that time there was Tim Laker (expos catcher) Scott Radinsky (White Sox and Dodgers) Simi was a hot bed for baseball always has been.

Royals' prospect Jake Odorizzi (in the Grienke trade) struck me out in a SWL All-Star game my junior year of high school. At the time, I had no idea who he was. Looking back at the atbat, I was just in awe at the 95-96 on the radar gun.

Hit a bomb off Halladay in instructional league and got drilled in the ribs next time up. I remember it was a fastball/change only day and they ran Halladay, Koch, and some other dude out there that were all 95-98 that day. This was long before he learned how to cut and sink it like he does now but his arm sure was live.
