Looking ahead to Topps Update

This thing could have a nice bumper crop of rookies in it. Harper's non-SP, Profar, Machado, Marte, Middlebrooks, Miller, and anyone else that happens to pop up in the next week or so. Should be a nice break after the relative disappointment that was Series 2.

Topps tweeted a while ago that Machado would be in Series 1 2013, so you can take that one off, not sure about Marte and Miller either, probably too late to get them in.

Middlebrooks, Harper and Darvish def have other RCs though. Will be a nice set, got my 4 cases pre-ordered already, and I have a feeling retail will be strong with this too (Harper retail exclusive patch anyone?)

Harper has a regular, Non-SP Rookie card in update, it is on the sell sheet in the checklist portion. I doubt they release another one, mostly because there are no other rookies that can carry the product now (Middlebrooks, Darvish, Cespedes, possibly others.)

Hoping for a lot of Twins in the RC checklist. Deduno, Diamond, Dozier, Florimon, De Vries, Fien, Robertson, Carson, Mastroianni. Basically half the roster. Some might not be rookies, not even sure any more.

It's too late for Machado and Profar (both slated for '13 Series 1) or anyone else that got the call up due to expanded rosters. From years past, it seems like Topps makes a cut-off at about the first/second week of August. So even players who were traded in August, rarely appear in Update in their new unis.

Marte and Middlebrooks should be in Update as well as a standard issue Harper RC logo, a Harper RC Debut and a Harper All-Star card (plus a 1987 Mini and an ASG relic card). Another thing to look forward to are the traded players appearing in their new uniforms, those cards always sell really well in Update. Ichiro to the Yanks, Thome to the O's, Pence to SF, Pettitte to the Yanks (not a trade), etc. Plus each card comes in a Gold Sparkle and a S/N Gold Border parallel.

Does anyone know the details on the presidential cards on Update? Also I think its cool that the whole 990 card gold /2012 set will be in Update- that will add alot of value- but I almost want to put the set together. I'm going to try 2 jumbo cases after doing poorly with 2 jumbo cases of Topps 2.
