Default Nationals And Cubs Bench Clearing Brawl

Anyone else see this? The Cubs threw at Harper and escalated from there.

Didn't see it...but if I'm the Nationals, I'm really getting sick of watching teams throw at Harper too.

"if ya cant beat em, throw at em"

no seriously though its pretty embarrassing when you throw at a teenager for doing nothing when you're 25+ games under .500 and lost the first 3 games of the series. Harper has done nothing to deserve being thrown at and im pretty sick of guys throwing at him

While I agree with the point you're making, I roll my eyes when Harper is described as a teenager to somehow make hitting him sound worse. The Nats annoying homer announcers did the same thing.

How dare they throw at a teenager! As if it's child abuse or something. Harper is a pro. It's good that the Nats are taking a stand and backing him up. Someone should've put one in Cole Hamels' ear hole the next time he came to the plate.

Because the Cubs bench coach was shouting things at him. That's why their bench coach got tossed out of the game.

players shout of the bench all the time. IF everybody starts being a tough guy this would happen every game. Also if the coach didnt walk over the umps would of done nothing

Well, if Jamie Quirk didn't start shouting words at Bo Porter, then Bo Porter would have never started yelling things back at him, and this brawl wouldn't happen.

It's Werth's fault he swung at a 3-0 pitch what was he thinking? he wants to win or something...lol

Jamie Quirk was out of line. and then to call a hit on Harper??? weird.... Cubs are bitter. Sad because I like the cubs.

Cubs were only down 5 in the 5th inning. Uh, I think I'd be swinging at 3-0 too and try to get my team a few more runs. Cubs were out of line, I agree.

Classy move...throwing at a kid that has overcome unbelievable pressure and expectations, being fast tracked through the Minors, Major League pitching, and being compared to Hall of Famers who have long since proven themselves...and all at the ripe old age of 19....only to have 5 HR'S and 13 hits in his last ten games??? So yeah, throw at the guy because you suck and your losing. And yes I agree, I also like several players on the present Cubs and in their farm system. Grow up though, you know?

Having said that. Maybe a stare down or a shake of the head, but just shut up and take your base. This is baseball.

Clevenger should've channeled his inner "Michael Barrett".

And lol @ Clevenger not even trying to catch the pitch.

I was hoping this thread would have mentioned Bryce Harper out for the year when Anthony Rizzo B***h slapped him.

He didn't get hit by the ball though, so he obviously can't go anywhere except just wait for the next pitch.

Oh, sorry, I was not home and saw it later, I thought it grazed his jersey...
