Guys, I am working on two rather large articles that I will post on cardboard connection probably after my update break. The first is going to be a huge article of the yearly calendar of Topps baseball products over the past three years and their average return on investment. I've included all my data, terapeak data and other case breakers data. This article will have much details in it. And will also go over return on investment versus value since the two things are not the same, Especially when it comes from the perspective of a collector or box opener as opposed to a case breaker.

I would love to include any data from any case breakers on here. I am looking for anyone open any cases of Topps baseball product with in the last three years since 2010. If you supplied data your name and specific data will not be shared with anyone rather use to calculate averages and percentages in this article. I already have a bunch of data but could use a little bit more from case breakers that typically will break anywhere from 1 to 10 cases of products. You do not have to break and products a year or even five just looking for any amount of data. Especially on fire in product because typically casepackers do not open those very often. Finally, the second article will based on my case breaking process. I have written similar articles but this time I'm going to be specific. I am going to go over my entire 50 case break of update. I am going to tell you what I did each day throughout the entire 2 to 3 week process and also tell you the amount of manpower and hours it took and what the time spent on each area was. Case breaking should be fun. But is not always easy. And most definitely not always a guaranteed money maker. But I hope to supply some informative articles that should be interesting and be helpful at the same time.

I will post this in one other place here on this forum and I will send a tweet regarding this information. Look for the article hopefully around the beginning of November. Good luck to all.

I'd just like to write thank you brentandbecca for breaking as much product as you do. Most of us can't break that much but we know you get the hits that are there in the product. And thats what counts. The Hits!

Are you twitching yet from the over-abundance of excitement that you have pumping through your body right now? I remember my first big case break. The day I was suppose to get delivery I was looking out the window every 10 minutes to see if the UPS truck was out there. It was a very long day since they didn't show up till after 7pm. I then realized that I was at the end of the trucks route. Lucky for me I get packages around noon now. For your sake, I hope you are one of the first stops in your drivers route. Its almost time to have more fun than you have ever had before (until the sorting begins).

You serious? I know retail stuff was possibly released on Saturday, but major distributors shouldn't have gotten their cases in before today.

That is all I am seeing right now. A lot of it, but no live cards from what I can tell. You (and I) are safe for right now. No market flooding yet.

Possibly have a "Threat Level Midnight" situation brewing with the base set pre-sales. Topps tweeted a picture of an Ichiro SP card in Yankees' uniform this morning. Then Topps later pointed to Ryan Cracknell's checklist as being the final one, and it has the card listed as part of the base set (#US272). This seems like a real gray area. Hope to have some resolution soon ... if you have any advice, please feel free to throw it my way.

Ichiro base is NOT sp'ed, pulled 2 in 10 Blasters.

Think I pulled a Harper Variant though, check out my break in the section.

Code is not different, that's why I am hesitating to put it up on eBay yet as a BIN/OBO. Picture is different though, I think it has to be a SP, no way they made 2 regular versions of the same card.

I don't really think you have anything to worry about. Since your doing 6 cases, it will become abundantly clear what is SP'd and what isn't. Every HTA jumbo box I have ever bought has yielded a complete set, so it should be easy to see if one of your dupes looks different.

No doubt ... my concern was that one of the base cards was actually SP'ed, therefore making completion of base sets an issue. Sounds like it's not a big deal though.

Cases will likely be here early tomorrow afternoon ... all the SPs have really added to the excitement. Best part, my boys have been counting down the days, they will be ready to rip!
