Shipping a high dollar card ($250+) overseas...how to cover my a**?

As the title says, I have a $250+ card that I sold on ebay to an overseas (AUS) buyer. What do I have to do exactly to be fully covered? Is it even possible (without breaking the bank)?

I used Priority Mail International Shipping (not flate rate). That should be enough, although some people say you must use Express Mail, although I don't see the difference.

Priority doesn't track once it leave the country, or at least doesn't track in a sufficient manner for PayPal's dispute process. You should either just roll the dice and go with First Class or send Express. Send Express and you should be fully covered.

What about using Priority mail and Ebay ShipCover insurance? Would that work, for covering my own behind...I know it wouldn't give me a tracking #, but hmm..

I did express. Expensive but the most secrued way.

I sent a $3700 cut auto Global Express! Pricey but worth the non-worrying.

USPS Express Mail International is the only 100% way to be covered.

Using Intl Priority with Ebay Ship cover should be OK

Express is the only way to cover yourself. Registered will still lose an eBay dispute - trust me.

I would say no because to be covered with insurance you need a tracking number, right?

In two instances of shipping overseas, both times using Priority, the first one actually showed 'Delivered' status but the second one didn't update after entering the destination country. Because of that it is really a crap shoot to use Priority.

The high value cards that I've put $30 shipping on for Express Mail seem to get ignored (even though it costs that much if not more, and I explain I am using the most expensive service). On my next high value card I may just eat the majority of the shipping cost and charge $10-15 to entice those overseas bidders unwilling to pay $30 for shipping.
