Default 2012 Topps Chrome Baseball Error Cards?

I have emailed Topps and Beckett to ask about these cards and what happened with them but also wanted to post here because this seems to be where all the experts are.

These seem to be the red refractor versions but are not serial numbered.

Thanks

Yes they are suppose to be numbered /25. Not sure but I always thought that red refractors were hobby exclusive only.

Over the last few years Ive seen a few sellers call cards RED when they are in fact ORANGE refractors and do something with scanner (yellow filter??) to make border appear closer to red. Or topps fd up.

Right, they're probably just backdoored/replacement refs. Wouldnt be anywhere near close to the first time.

Received a reply back from Topps but not from Beckett.

I have posted the answer Topps has given below and I have some follow up questions for them. If anyone else has anything they would like for me to include in the follow up message please let me know.

I am going to ask them if they could be more specific on what happened with these cards.

Also wanted to ask them since they have labeled them error cards if they would let Beckett know so they can be listed as such.

I wanted to ask about the following cards and what happened with them and
what exactly they are.

These seem to be the red refractor versions but are not serial numbered.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

That's what they look like to me. There are examples of numbered Pujols and Hamilton red Refs out there. I'm guessing these aren't reds but orange. Or photoshopped.

davepeters239, do you have these cards in hand or are you going from scans?

They definitely look red from the scans, too. I wouldn't put it passed Topps to forget to stamp the serial number on there, as I pulled a no number orange or blue refractor from a Draft case.

Don't pay attention to him. He has been pretty bitter ever since being diagnosed with micropenis.
