I own a Cabrera Topps Traded RC auto, so I am hoping he wins it and the Triple Crown. Then it would be time to sell, sell, sell!

Trout in my opinion. Hes a rookie, one of the fastest players in the league, and can hit bombs

I would have to say Cabrera. Tigers are a playoff team unlike the Angels. So if a non-playoff team can have the MVP then that should work for both NL and AL. Cabrera is also likely to win the Triple Crown.

Trout stole a bunch of bases , made a couple great catches and his team still didn't make the playoffs. Lets give him MVP. He obviously deserves it more then someone who puts up numbers that were only ever duplicated by Babe Ruth and Lou Gerhig.

203 H, 44 HR, 137 RBI, 40 2B
Single Season in MLB History
2012 Miguel Cabrera Tigers
1934 Lou Gehrig Yankees
1927 Lou Gehrig Yankees
1921 Babe Ruth Yankees

That doesn't even mention the triple crown he is about to win.. Give it trout! He has been far more impressive.

take away the doubles and replace it with average and it becomes something a whole lot more guys have done...in fact, jimmie foxx in '32 and '33 misses the doubles but has far higher average, hr and rbi totals. there are enough stats in baseball that if you cherry pick you can come up with something very few have ever done....oh, and foxx had 9 triples in those seasons too...

Some people think being 19 gives you bonus points for ROY so why not this way?

Cabrera leads the majors in double plays grounded into.

I read a piece by Jonah Keri where he argued Miggy had a better year in '10 & '11. I hope he wins the Triple Crown but Trout is still MVP for me.

You don't understand that Trout was up to bat 60 times fewer and struck out 40 more times then Miggy?

Miggy leads the league in Xtra Base Hits too..

This is 100% true -- he was far better last year. OBP was a ridiculous .448. Too bad Verlander stole all thunder (I guess).

As if a strikeout is the worst way in the world to get an out? I'd rather have a guy go down swinging than ground into the ol' 6-4-3.

An out is an out is an out. For every piece of positive situational hitting (advancing the runner, sac flies, etc.), there's a negative counterpart (GIDP, runner getting doubled off after a line drive, etc.). A strikeout is the safest out you can make.

Also, let's not pretend that Cabrera is Tony Gwynn on that front. He's getting pretty close to that century mark himself.

Sort of hard to believe some you still believe trout has a chance at the MVP race after Detroit clinched the central division on top of Cabrera being pretty close to the triple crown. While i do agree trout had a phenomenal season, the fact of the matter is that LA isn't even in contention for the playoffs and without Cabrera the tigers probably wouldn't make the playoffs at all.

Who wins it? Probably Cabrera. Who deserves it? Trout.

Voters won't ignore the fact that Trout's WAR is 4 points higher. Just sayin'.

Value is constant. It's an individual award that shouldn't be dependent on factors, such as team success, that he cannot control totally but can only contribute to. He contributed the most overall value to his team, when you account for all aspects the game considers.

Now the award leaves room for the definition of value, but with that it also leaves room for debate and the logical side is Trout for MVP.

Trout - ROY
Miggy - MVP (still hoping he wins the Triple Crown)

end of story, IMO.
