I'm sure I am well into 6 figures considering that I had a shop, sold on ebay since 2003, did shows for years and I still rip cases for resale. I don't collect cards and my collection is mostly golf related or events that I attend.

Cards have never been my sole income source. I've been lucky enough to retire from the military and now have another well paying job.

About $2,300 on Triple threads and Upper Deck , Tri-Star etc , etc and flipped it for a good profit . My PC ( Mets , and HOF Auto's ) about $1,900 . I do alot of overtime at work ( Juvie Detention ) so I'm ok. My better half is making cut back to buy a car

I am right there with you being also 18, I have a job and so far this year have dropped about $700 thanks to graduation money. But I do not ever regret what I buy I love the hobby and the feel of pulling a great card. I think I am a possible addict.

I don't want to know, all I know is I probably could have bought a couple high grade '52 mantles for what I've spent.

Given most of that is from ripping and flipping cases, but probably have spent about 2k on PC stuff.

In 2012, I've spent $1,008 so far (up through today, October 3rd) on cards and autographs (about $350 of which was this past weekend at Philly). That includes admission to shows, as well as tickets and admission to all games at which I obtained in-person autos. The only thing I didn't factor in was gas and lodging, because they aren't directly hobby-related costs.

I would guess I've probably spent $1500 this year (including the $250 I will spend later today and the $50 it will probably cost me to finish my Heritage set). After Update, I'm done for the year.

I dont sell much, less than $100 so far this year, less than $100 last year. I collect and I like to build sets. That said, I am thinking about digging through my box of so called hits and listing all but a few players.

I have learned just stay within your budjet and make sure your family and Bills come first no matter what.Do don't buy cards with Credit where you have a bill unless your going pay it of every month.

Worse thing in life is being in Debt.

I recently got a better job so I just started to spend money.Within the last week I have spent about 250.00.

Absolutely well-said...except in my case, family and Seahawks! (Sorry, had to "capitalize" on the opportunity for a pun!)

Yes it is.

Only thing that sucks is when your prospecting somebody and there is not alot of Auto's on the market because people are holding them...That's the problem I am running into with somebody .

At my wax busting peak, I would spend $5-10K per year, most of which I sell to buy more wax. At the end of the day, it probably worked out to $2-3K out of pocket. I hardly bust any wax anymore unless it's with money generated directly from sales/flips. My PC is down to probably $4-5K in HOF autos and nicer Vikings stuff.
