Default How much money have you spent on cards?

Looking at people drop thousands of $$$ on cards, makes me wonder, HOW DO YOU AFFORD THAT!! Is this your only hobby, no family, have the money, or are bankrupt? Obviously I do not have the money to do this, but totally wish I did!

It comes down to being responsible and knowing your limits. We all have different income levels. I couldn't afford to bust through 5 cases of TTT for fun, as Chapman is doing; living vicariously through a situation like that is all I can afford.

If you include rolling over sales into more purchases (and additional iterations from there) I would hate to know.

Same here, start to think about what you could have done with that $. Now I only break cases and I do as $ allows. Generally open a couple of cases each month at a time. Sell off the stuff I don't want and repeat the process.

I work and am not in K-12 like most of our members. Also I can confidently say I have a problem, I am addicted to cards..

Close to $100k this year. But you have to take in account I also sell 90% of it to buy more. So far I haven't lost much money this year and that's why its possible. Just recycled funds and a whole lot of cases!

right now I do about 15 grand in ebay sales a year and I don't break high risk products so that is probably roughly what I spend as well. its a fun hobby when you aren't losing money I would not do it if I lost large amounts of money.

This doesn't include trades, card show purchases, and forum and off site sales.

Sales to date: $70,455.50
Transactions: 2740
First eBay Sale: 08/07/2003

Edit:

I have probably over $10K in inventory and PC items at the moment.

Well, I spend too much of course, but I usually try to balance my purchases and sales. I bought a card the other day for $18, and a few days later I sold a couple cards for $20.

I hate thinking about how much I've spent on wax. I'm at the point now where I sell what I have collecting dust and turning the sales into pc cards.

I spend about $10,000/yr. Only buying. I make a good living and so does my wife. I spend a very small percentage of our income.
