The Marlins broadcast just pointed out that if Stanton was healthy the entire season, with his current stats, over the course of a full season he would have hit 50 HR's and batted .300 with 115RBi's...
BTW... he's 21 lol EDIT: as someone pointed out he is actually 22

this is correct.. did poor mental math in my head (born 1989) ... still incredible IMO.. I think he will make a run at 800 career HR's if he's healthy for 20 years. big "if" on that one though

Pujols needs to average 41 HR's a year for the next 8 years to reach 800 HR's, and he needs to average 36 HR's a year to break the HR record

Don't get me started on this.. I could rant on that all day. They have actually been keeping people lately though (Josh Johnson, Nolasco, etc etc)
They trade people they know they can replace.. like they did with Miguel Cabrera (I could rant on this forever) Dan Uggla and Cody Ross.. but they started keeping people around 2009. They have already started talking about long term deals with Stanton even though they do not need to for about 3 years.

Because you assumed they marlins were "doing it again" and dumping everyone.. they weren't.
Getting Jacob Turner was a STEAL.. that guy has Ace stuff and will be a very very nice pitcher in the future.. I think he has like a 3.6 something ERA right now.. and he hasn't even had a full season yet. Trading Hanley should have been done back when Miggy was traded to the Tigers.. they invested in the wrong guy. David Sampson didn't personally like Cabrera (citing his drinking) and for whatever reason loved Hanley. I think it's one of the biggest mistakes in Marlins history. As for JJ.. the Marlins purposely asked for too much as they had no intention of dealing him.

Does it scare any other fans that he has no protection in the lineup? Once people realize he is on the elite level of hitters and he has Carlos Lee behind him, he'll never have another pitcher seriously pitching to him. He said earlier that he has to adapt to how some pitchers don't want him to hit off them, and aren't giving him pitches to hit. We need to sign a big hitter to back up Giancarlo this off season.
