So I came across this huge box of Baseball cards at a Garage sell. Paid $20 for it all and this is what I got:
1988 Score Collector Set 660 Player Cards 56 Magic Motion Taivia Cards 1989 Donruss Complete Set 1989 Fleer Logo Stickers and Trading Cards Factory Sealed 2 1989 Topps Complete Set Factory Sealed 1987 Topps Complete Set and 12 little red boxes 1989 Topps Baseball "Traded Series" The guy I got them from told me that there was atleast a couple hundred dollars worth of cards. Im thinking to my self that he probably doesn't know the market these days. Why else would he be selling this box for $20?? As soon as I got home I hit eBay. I know I have Ken Griffey Jr RC's along with Randy Johnson RC's, Deion Sanders RC's, Craig Biggio's. I dunno what to do with these?? Leave the sealed sets, sealed or pull the Rookies out and have them graded?? |

To be honest, I would pull the Griffey and Johnson rookies and see if they could grade well.
Once it gets cold, use the score and 87s in your fireplace.

If the sets are all factory sealed see what you could get for them. I'm sure you will make your money back alone on the Topps Traded. Take into account what the grading will cost and check to see what they go for graded.
If this was purely a buy with the intent to sell for profit sell them sealed. You will make your money and your profit and take out the risk of the Griffeys not grading well. |

Do the following..
88 Score.. find the Tom Glavine, burn the rest 89 Donruss.. find Griffey, Smoltz, Biggio, Randy Johnson, and Sheffield.. burn the rest 89 Fleer... find Griffey, Smoltz, Biggio, Randy Johnson, and Sheffield.. burn the rest 89 Topps...find Smoltz, Biggio, Randy Johnson, and Sheffield.. burn the rest 87 Topps.. Find Bonds, McGwire, Larkin... burn the rest 89 Topps Traded... Find Griffey and RJ.. burn the rest If you don't follow the above advice... I REALLY hope you paid less than $5 each for the big sets and under $3 each for the traded sets.. that's what they are worth retail... if that

16 Griffey Jr. Rookies plus the others for a total of $20 bucks??? Not bad at all. Hell we piss that away on 3 or 4 packs anymore easy and get jack schitt for our money. But yeah outside of the main rookies or "star" players the rest are filler material. Use them to ship with when you sell
