Why buy something, then ask if it was a good deal?

I see this all the time on a variety of boards I read. Never understand why people would buy something without knowing if it was a good idea or not.

Are people that stupid or is it a way to show off without seem like they are showing off?

crazycards1981 10-10-2012 08:47 AM

Most of the time its for show, then they quickly realize what they thought was a good deal is really not.

jlzinck 10-10-2012 08:53 AM

For show. Self esteem. Some people just like to start discussions. What you think something is worth and what someone else does does not matter.

If I buy something it is because it is something I want and the selling price is in my buying range.

Those threads are really no different that. "Player X is the best in the league"

100 people and you will have 73 different responses.

so that people like you who troll boards can read it and post your own thread in envy.

Thommy 10-10-2012 08:57 AM

I do it because I legitimately want to know, but I don't want anyone on the forum to outbid me.

crazycards1981 10-10-2012 08:58 AM

I also think people may bid without doing research, find out they overpaid, then never pay the seller. This is the only way I can explain all the non payers on ebay.

there are also a lot of illegals that don't have a shipping address. Who buy and realize if they do pay there is no place for it to be shipped. I've had 5 non paying bidders from Lower California.

That is so unbelievably prejudice.

would you buy a new lawnmower and have it shipped somewhere that your not legally allowed to live? AKA would you have something shipped to the vacant house down your street or your neighbors house? If regulation was passed and they went apt to apt kicking out people without paperwork to live in this country then what would you do.... come back later and try and claim your lawnmower? It actually happened in Texas City btw.... they sued the mayor over him arresting people loitering outside and apt complex. Couldn't follow through with the discrimination case cause they couldn't find any of the people who had been arrested... they up and moved somewhere else.

Did you just cry about trolling like a girl then troll yourself?

Of course, because any countering view is automatically a troll.

ScooterD 10-10-2012 09:19 AM

I swear... every election year, people get manic and go out of their minds. First we got a guy on one thread wigging out about pedophiles and threatening to murder people. Now we got this guy spouting about illegal immigrants and making ethnocentrically charged assertions.

People... put down the Kool Aid and focus on baseball cards.

You wanna talk politics? There are plenty of message boards for that... this isn't one of them.

wait..just because they're illegal doesn't mean they're homeless. Also how do you know they're from Lower California if they didn't provide a shipping address? And where exactly is Lower California? I live in SoCal, and have never heard of this magical place.

You sell lawnmowers on eBay? Shipping must suck on those.

Relax. It's for reassurance a lot of the time. A way to exorcise the buyer's remorse demons. Even if it's to show off...so what? That's half of what internet hobby boards are for.
