Regardless of the outcome of Game 5, THANK YOU, Oakland for one hell of an amazing year!! It's been a great ride. I just hope we don't have to get off quite yet!

It bears mentioning that Parker has a 2.61 ERA through 100 innings at the Coliseum...just throwing it out there.

I've gotta say, this post season has been incredibly fun to watch so far. I was mainly a fan of offense, but as a childhood A's fan, I've gotta say, they've got me rooting for them in the biggest way yet again! GO A'S!!!!!

Law of statistics. 2 bay area teams, both fighting to stay alive, both winning and doing it. I was sure that one team would go down yesterday but was wrong. Now both teams are at it today and I'm still thinking one goes down. Posey busts a grandslam moments ago and giants might pull it off. Does that mean the a's fall, statistically speaking?
If not and both advance, then party for BO members at my house!! |

Saw on ESPN that DET is a 2:1 favorite for game 5, based on JV pitching I am sure and not at all based on their lackluster hitting this series (although give credit where it is due - OAK has made some amazing defensive plays and is a good fundamental team. It would be nice if DET was better at the fundamentals.

well also, unless from those with home team blinders, every Tigers fan has to be impressed with the A's pitching staff especially their starter rookies like Parker, Milone and Griffin, and mid relief like Cook and Doolittle |

I am amazed at the lack of knowledge w/ respect to the many of these posts. While not an A's fan myself, I do understand the gaem of baseball. The lack of respect by the non A's fans is pretty funny. Had they done their research they would not be here.
After the all star break, the A's have scored more runs than any other team in baseball. All year, their staff has the 2nd best ERA in all of the American League. Better then both the Tigers and the Yankees. They had the best record in the 2nd half of the season in the AL. Justin Verlander has a career record in the postseason of 4-3, with an ERA just under 5.00. That includes game 1. Anything can happen, just saying these A's are more than an amazing story. Baseball is a great game. Hopefully game 5 will be the exclamation point to yet another great divisional series. Edit: And I won't even talk about payroll....... think its more a case of the east coast not really getting that many chances to watch Oakland since they are on the west coast and the time differences. Majority are probably going to bed while a fair amount of A's games are still being played at night |
