Bad replacement from Topps?????

I asked for a replacement for:

2012 Topps Tribute Matt Kemp Auto Blue #/50 on-card

and received

2010 Bowman Sterling Mike Olt Refractor Auto #/199 sticker.

Did I get hosed?

I know who matt kemp is but who is Mike olt? I called Beckett about getting a replacement and the guy told me I should just wait cause their supply on cards worthy was thin. So I said ok.

Olt is the Rangers next up and comer. He's got tons of potential, but there's no way that potential leads to an equal value replacement.

That will get you a Mike Olt /199 and a base Olt.

But in all seriousness I would say the Kemp #50 would bring you $30-$40 more on the open market over the Olt IMO

I'm not sure "hosed" is the correct word here. It works but I think you suffered more than just being "hosed"... Ripped off, screwed, castrated or just kicked in the junk would work better. Sorry for you, that Topps has added you to their growing list of unsatisfied customers.

He got a bad deal but the $30-$40 less is not correct. The kemp is a $30ish cards and the olt is 20ish

I sent in to replace a damaged card and received ANOTHER damaged card.

Sorry to troll this thread but I did the route of filing with BBB about how Topps hosed me with not following their policy and giving me an equal value replacement after 15 weeks, actually 17, had passed. I had turned in a redemption for Hosmer 2011 BC auto back in April. After 15 weeks they emailed and said I was past their deadline and could choose what amounted to $600 in Beckett value since that is what Hosmer was booking at. Phone support and email both confirmed I would be getting this replacement. After 2 more weeks and nothing I call and was told sorry we always had Hosmer and we screwed up by not sending it so now we are going to send. Their delay of course killed what was selling for $500 down to $200 and they don't care.

When filing grievance with BBB they say they did not fulfill redemption because athlete had not signed

I shot back that is a blatant lie and could readily prove it and challenged Topps to stick by that statement. Then they respond yes the athlete had signed but their fulfillment center did not have in stock? All lies and I wasted my time. I like Topps products but hate how they treat us customers. They said I got what I had coming and they were not doing anything further. Still stinging from that. Not to mention the multiple nobody's I am sent for missing hits over the years. Oh well, in football all my missing hits seemed to be fulfilled by Kyle Rudolph. At least he is looking ok...never know how those nobody's may turn out.

Isn't this what happens when, at least as far as baseball goes, you have no competition to worry about? Monopolies are always bad for the consumer/collector in the long run. Does anyone know when the exclusivity license is up with the MLBPA and topps?
