This may have been previously discussed, if so I apologize. Please direct me to thread. If not I would be interested to hear your thoughts.
Thanks in advance. I do not want to know location or packout serial number destinations, just what hits are still remaining to the general public and not held back in the vault at Topps for replacement. Lottery scratch off games can be viewed online to show how many winners are still available. They do not show county/city location, just what's out there remaining. Why doesn't Topps have a site for tracking high end/serialized cards (either autos or refractors, etc)? I just want to know if buying a product to chase a hit is even worth it. Am I asking for too much? Something like... Bryce Harper...BC Red Auto Refr. #'d to 5...4 avail to public...1 held for replacement. This way the collectors can attempt to track 4 via EBay, Sports Cards Forums, Etc. if they'd like. I know the almighty $$$$ has alot to do with this but I believe that we will still spend $$$$ just like scratch off junkies so there has to be a better answer. Time and quantity is a weak excuse as well in this day and age of technology, mass production, scanning ability, computer programs, etc. Or maybe something like this already exists and I just don't know. Thanks again guys...sorry for being so lengthy. |

Will never be done unfortunately as there is no upside for the companies, if the main chase cards are pulled and known by everyone, it will hurt the value of the remaining product

I do agree that companies will probably never do this though.

Is it really asking too much though?
Just blanket it across the board if need be. For example...all /5 have only 4 available via busting wax.... ...all/10 have only 8 available via busing wax.... etc.......etc......etc..... |

It also wouldn't ever be able to be accurate as there are lots of people who never sell or post their hits online, many are kept or only sold offline

The collector would carry the burden to find whats available. I just don't like the premise of looking for a card numbered to 5 or 10 or 50 when there is not that many out for public consumption. |
