Post My Annual Organizational Top Prospect Lists

Each year at this time I like to rank each team’s top overall prospects. My criteria are based upon 1) past performance and 2) future potential (50% each). I have expanded my list of prospects this year, from 15 to 20 per team.

Disclaimer: I am not a scout, nor did I attend any minor league games this year. These lists are merely the product of my own research of online scouting reports and statistics.

To qualify for these lists, a prospect must have no more than 130 at-bats or 50 innings pitched in the Major Leagues.

Thanks for sharing. A little surprised to see Rendon at the top of the Nationals. Really hope he can come through.

Do you rank the organizations as well? Curious where you'd put my Astros?

When Rendon is healthy, he's a great hitter and defender, with emerging power. Unfortunately, the Nationals' system isn't what it once was, mostly due to the Gio trade.

I didn't rank organizations this year, but off the top of my head I believe Houston would be in the top 10.

Nice rankings. Was very impressed with Dahl and Gallo this season. Excited to see what they do next year in their first full year.

Jaypers---I always look forward to this.

As an A's fan, what is going on with Michael Ynoa?

I see that list and I still wonder how did we get Wheeler for a Beltran rental.

I read he wasn't nearly as impressive in Vermont. Fringy stuff.

No. The power is impressive, the rest of him not so much.

I didn't read that. All I know is he's been riddled with injuries since being signed.

I think last year I had some small quibbles with your Rangers list, but looks like are pretty much on track this year. I might have Brinson ahead of Edwards....from a pure upside perspective, but otherwise everyone seems to be grouped appropriately. I expect this to be a make or break year for Buckel, there are some questions about his ability to get results against high level prospects. I would think Loux and Grimm to get consideration for bullpen time in Spring Training. But other than Profar, Olt and Perez I can't see any of these guys playing in the Majors in 2013.

Hooray! Betances is still considered a top Yankees prospect .

Very nice lists. I'm a little bit shocked & embarrassed to say that I didn't recognize three of the Yankees prospects though, guess I'll have to do some more research for the future Yankees.

Why Panik and Brown lower? I don't think Blackburn should be that high?

Panik didn't stand out that much in the hitter friendly CAL, and Brown's bat wasn't as good at AA as it was last year in High-A.

Blackburn, on the other hand, was terrific in the Sally league. Projects to be a #3 SP, from what I've read.

Not a fan of Ozuna? Was a little surprised to see him at 7.

I'm a fan, but power is really his only standout tool.
