Wow, I would love to go just to see all the different athletes in person.

i wish i could go to this. unfortunately don't have the $$ to do so. i wanted to go to the show in july that they had when Trent Richardson was signing but wasn't able to.

I don't think the Strasburg prices are that bad. especially if he has the kinda of career we think he will.

i actually think the list of signers in July was better than this one.

i guess i will just save up for National 2014...

I am in disbelief over the prices of autos. A fool and his money will soon part. $300 for Shaq for heaven's sake???

$49 for Podsednik? $99 for McNabb?

Are they on crack?

Strasburg more expensive than all those HOFers??? The real deal is Paul Molitor for $59...

So wait a second. First I'm paying $35 for a member of the 1980 US Hockey team that nobody has heard of, and then I'm paying PSA $75 to authenticate the signature???

PSA/DNA will be offering a flat rate of $75.00 to authenitcate one item signed by all of the 1980 Hockey Players.
Please note all aoutgraphs need to be on one item, after you have your item authenticated in the autograph area you can take your item to the
PSA booth and get a letter of authenticity. This ticket is only available through Mounted Memories either pre-order or at the ticket
counter at the show. PSA will not be selling these tickets at the authentication table.

I guess I should have been more clear. Obviously each athlete isn't setting their own price to the end buyer, but rather the promoter. The price for McNabb tells me that either McNabb's fees and costs are extremely high or that the promoter is way off in their estimation of demand for McNabb. I'm choosing the first the be the case.

McCarver isn't a Hall of Famer. He's a Ford C. Frick award winner and so he is in the Broadcaster Wing at the HOF. Technically not a Hall of Fame Inductee and not a "HOF Member."

This is the price for all 14 of them together, opposed to $8 each like it usually is.

Podsednik gets that price for his World Series ring...you'd be surprised at the amount of people that will pay that to add him to team pieces from that championship.

Molitor is a good deal, especially compared to McNabb, because he signs an awful lot more than Donovan does. That explains his price...

I know I would've immediately sent in a mail-order for an 8x10 at that price (most people would still probably think a hundred is still insane to get 6 gymnasts, but it at least would've been within the ballpark). Miller, Moceanu and Strug will still get some people at $39 apiece ($49 by mail), but I honestly do NOT envision ANYONE ponying up that much for Chow, Borden or Phelps by themselves (and where the hell is Dawes?!?!?!). Moceanu was totally my athlete crush in the summer of '96 when I was in 8th grade. Still don't think I'd pay $49 just to get her. I think she has signed photos on her site for like $10.
LOL! We have similar tastes. Had a big time crush on her that olympics in which she absolutely crushed it. Had all the Olympic edition sports illustrateds. Those were the days.

Shaq for $300? Can't you buy a certified on-card AUTO of his for $50? Do people really think they will have that much of a story to tell their grandkids one day that they said "Hello" to Shaq and he looked up and smiled for half a second?

One cool thing I remember was in 2004 when Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was at a Hollywood Park show (I think it was $129, you could buy nice certified AUTO's of his for about $60 at the time). Someone brought an old UCLA Sports Illustrated and asked him to sign it "Lew Alcindor." Kareem looked up with a stern face and said "That person doesn't exist anymore." He signed it "Kareem", no last name/names.

He normally signs 'Abdul Jabbar'. Maybe just putting 'Kareem' makes it more valuable - certainly worthy of ebay 1/1! Or maybe it's worthless since it's impossible to authenticate as it's just his first name. Whoever asked him to sign by his birth name was being a dick anyway.

95% of the people paying $300 for Shaq aren't getting him to sign a card...they're going to get him on a jersey, a ball, etc. Add a premium piece to the ability to actually meet him and it's worth $300 to more than a few people.
