Bryce Harper Help

Been talking to this person about a possible trade. I wanna add a Bryce to my collection. I just don't know which rookie is his best rookie since they have made rookies of him for 3 years. Kind of ridiculous if you ask me how they get away with that. Anyways the card below he is saying is $13000 card but i dont even know if its his best rookie. Maybe someone on here can help me out and tell me if he being honest. It's a beautiful card with his jersey number which I know adds value but seriously 15k?

No way, $13000 is way too much for that card. It is a beauty but not worth that much, maybe $2500.

2012 Topps Triple Threads Bryce Harper True 1 1 Rookie Auto Patch RC Holy Grail | eBay

Now that's a beauty. I think it's much nicer than the one above. But is it a true RC since its 3 years since his first card produced. Don't really buy inserts too often and big collector in RC. Just curious because I'm tempted to make an offer on that one if its considered a RC.

Personally, I would consider it a rookie card being that 2012 was his first year ever in the majors. But if you're going for investment, 2011 BC would probably be the better option.

I just think that card is way nicer. Plus it's from a higher end product. But if its not considered an RC than its just an insert.

The prices alone should tell you that the Bowman Chrome is a more sought after card. I really like the buyback 2010 bowman chrome USA from the wrapper redemption program. Even though I'm not usually big on USA cards, I think that is my favorite with Bowman Chrome autograph from 2011 being extremely close.

I realize the prices go towards the 2011 chrome. I just think the triple threads is much nicer card and its considered a rookie card I am considering to attempt to get it.

All Harpers cards prior to this years 2012 new releases; Topps,Thread,Chrome,Bowman Chrome and Ginter are NOT Harper rookie cards they are Prospect cards and not his true rookies. They have him in his Washington Senators Jersey not Nationals jersey. You may find some people who may consider them rookies in the prior releases but most do not. The card he has above is not worth anywhere near 10K and at auction would go for 3K at most. I would buy chrome and Bowman chrome and Threads out of the ones that are his True rookies.

I have all the cards that people are talking about so I have "prospect cards" and "rookie cards" and that is what they are.

Yeah think he was saying that people think a players "rookie" is there first card but that is not true 95% of the Harper cards released so far 2011-2012 are prospect cards. They are worth buying and investing in but the OP was asking about rookie cards so that would be 2012 Chrome etc with Harper in his Nationals Jersey. There is always going to be a conversation about this but most say ""A rookie card is the players first major league card in a MLB Jersey"

I am agreeing, a player is not a rookie until he has played at the major league level. But I have been the equivalent of yelled at here for saying otherwise.

It will always be a debate but If I were to start over collecting his cards, I would still buy the 2011 cards but to me the real rookies are this year when he was actually in the line up.

W stands for Washington
