Default Prospect autos

How many do you have saved up... over 2011 to current releases, I think I have roughly 250-300... I just can't bring myself to sell these if I will only get 4-8 a card, would much rather hang on to them and when one of them gets called up and has a big game, boom $20+

The law of averages are against you if you are holding large quantities.

Example 1 - Sell now for an average of $5 each.
300 cards @ $5 each = $1,500

Example 2 - Sell later when prices have settled on some, and went up on others.
250 cards @ $1 each = $250
50 cards @ $20 each = $1,000

Very crude example of course, but it shows that even if several of your guys get hot you can still take a loss. I am a math geek who loves spreadsheets. I have done all kinds of comparisons with prospect cards in relation to selling now vs. selling later. Selling now wins out almost all of the time when you are talking about a large number of players. Now you can get lucky with one or two guys and completely change those numbers around (Trout). But for the most part the longer a large lot of cheaper autos are held the less they will be worth.
