Default My First Mail-Day post, Plus Garage Sale Steals

Ok, so I typically buy things in bulk, and it can be to a fault. I don't normally buy one or two cards, but this week was an exception, I suppose. I'll go chronologically. Keep reading though, because it gets better down the line. And yes, for the right price, everything is always for sale!

First off, I ended up grabbing a collection of Albert Pujols cards - several jersey cards, refractors, etc. The ones that stood out to me were the patches. Pictures below of some of my favorites. The lot had a few more triple threads of Pujols than this also.

Next up, I kind of had a hankerin' for some more TTT goodness, and vintage style, so I found a Ty Cobb double sided card ... "The Georgia Peach" and "Tyrus the Virus" is what the bat pieces say. I got it for a FANTASTIC price.

That is it for the mail. Now, onto the garage sale goodness.

I went to an estate sale, and the house was clearly from a hunter. The walls were LINED with stuffed and mounted ducks. After some negotiations, I ended getting pretty much EVERYTHING. So yeah ... there are literally over 30 stuffed ducks, cranes, etc. in my garage. It took 2 minivan trips for everything. Here are a few pics.

Yeah, we've got enough to play duck, duck goose for quite a while. Needless to say, the look on my wife's face was priceless when she opened the garage door! My kids were borderlined terrified.

When that was over, I drove to one more garage sale. There was a holder that had some cards. Cool! I thought to myself. I just saw the names ... Jeter, Piazza...'scuse me ... how much for this plaque?

$1

I'll take it! I hastily pulled out the dollar from my pocket, and scurried back. Turns out the middle card was a Derek Jeter rookie. Picture below.

From experience, stuffed animals sell for very well on ebay. Could make a killing on the collection if you sold it in auction. The other thing to look out for is bull or elk horns. Those do really well too.

Careful selling waterfowl & deer/elk horns on eBay. Not sure about your state but in jersey it is very illegal to sell antlers. Last I saw a guy put a few on eBay and got raided and arrested a day later. Pretty serious offense here. Also a lot of times waterfowl (could only be alive or recently deceased? Stuffed might be okay) can not be transferred across state lines. Make sure to read up before listing anything on eBay or anywhere else. Also curious what you paid for the ducks? Have a house full of ducks and huge deer mounts!
BTW- You have 2 Mallards, 3 Wood Ducks, 1 Green Wing Teal, 1 Pintail, 1 Canadian Goose, 1 Snow Goose (Lesser I think), & 1 Ring Neck Duck (or Greater/Lesser Scaup can't see pic clearly!)
No clue about the swan/cranes though.

I wondered how long it was going to take for someone to say that, lol. I guess technically, it only cost 10 cents though, if you put a value of 10 cents on the holder itself as well!

Thanks for the heads up! I def. won't be doing anything illegal, so we'll figure something out when I need to clear out the garage of them. I appreciate your letting me know about the different types too.

You know ... that was from another garage sale. I would take $60 for it, but my wife would take a swing at me if I sold it, so I'll have to keep it for now. I buy all kinds of cool stuff from all over the place. That is the benefit of work being slow. I just might be the happiest biz owner who is having a slow season .

I was able to pick it up for $7, which I was mega pumped about it. The problem is, is that all the mega cool stuff I get, my wife looks at and says "yeah babe ... we are keeping this." To me, nothing is sacred, so it is all for sale. I've gotten some awesome stuff over the past few months. Beats the heck out of working!
