The Panini America Quality Control Gallery: 2012 Signature Series Baseball (56 Images)

November 5, 2012 at 5:18 PM

If Tom Hanks taught us anything about America’s pastime, it’s that there’s no crying in baseball. Of course, there’s no real off-season in baseball, either — which is why Panini America is making plans for a banner week on the diamond.

The collecting schedule this week boasts an absolutely dynamic double header of heavy-hitting baseball products from Panini America. 2012 Cooperstown Baseball, which we previewed with an extensive QC gallery last week, finally releases on Wednesday. One day later, 2012 Signature Series Baseball hits hobby shops across the country packing three autographs, one elegant design and tons of baseball star power in every box.

Panini America’s Ben Ecklar and Mike Payne were busy putting the finishing touches on the product during the Quality Control process last week. As you’ll see in the revealing gallery that follows, 2012 Signature Series Baseball has a little something for everyone — autographs from current MLBPA superstars, Hall of Famers and some of the coolest embroidered patch cards to date, highlighted by Rated Rookie and MLBPA logo versions.

Stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance later this week for a must-see episode of Panini Unwrapped starring 2012 Signature Series. But until then, enjoy this 56-image appetite-whetter . . .

Holy Sh**!! A panini product I think I actually could like. The candid photos are pretty sharp.

Maybe the best design I've seen where you don't miss the absence of MLB logos...not too shabby

Yeah, but it's still just not the same without the logo's. I'm interested to see if these are actually worth $120 per pack/box.

Better watch out if Snider has any cards in it.

I would rather drink a glass of bloody pee than purchase any of this garbage.

HAHAHAHAHAHA I have been known to crack every single box in the shop at times no matter how terrible my luck is and no matter how bad the product is but if my shop was giving these things away I still dont think I would open this GARBAGE!!!!

I like the base cards and on card autographs but more stamp autographs no thanks...it was nice the first time around. I might pick up some singles but boxes no way!

This is getting better, Panini. Lose some of the gimmicks and you might be able to make a solid non-licensed product.

Not nuts about the game ball and stamp cards but the closeups are unique. They can avoid the logos without looking like they're trying to.
