Default Advice/help needed concerning ebay sale

Hi and thanks in advance. I've only been selling on ebay for about 3 mos now and just had this come up: Buyer makes an offer on two sets of 2011 topps update, i accept, he takes about a week to pay. Item shipped on Monday, then I get a message from him today that both sets arrived wet? He obviously wants a refund which I state on every item that we give. Items were sent USPS first class with delivery confirmation and I guess my question is whether the P.O. is responsible for them arriving wet? Or could I be getting scammed in some way? Thanks again.

Tell him you will issue a refund after you receive the cards back. Not sure the po can be at fault for wet cards. I also think this may be a scam but if you say you will refund the money after you receive your cards you will see if he is serious.

Thanks for the advice. Both boxes were wrapped good with thick clear tape, just can't see how they'd get wet unless someone left them in a puddle of water for awhile.

His buyer feedback looks good with a few blemishes on the selling side with quotes like, " seller flat out lied to me." Thanks again guys.

For future sales add a restocking fee to your return policy ( eBay will honor up to 25%), this will keep the scammers from coming at you. During the summer I had a rash of bs returns that cost me dearly. eBay suggested I use a restocking fee which I've been using for3 months and the bs returns have totally stopped. Obviously if you feel it's legit, accept the return.
