Surface on both is virtually FLAWLESS!! I wish I had better pictures to show. I am making a 49 card Jeter display with UV glass. I now have all the '93 RCs and a bunch of other '92 - '95 cards to fill out the rest. Jst not sure if I want to put these in sleeves so they fit or send to grading and change my setup.

I 100% agree, that Jeter looks exceptionally good for being a UD Sp. We all know how much of a price difference there is between a RAW/bgs 8.5-9 compared to a 9.5, I would take the chance with such a beautiful card like that. When grading it, throw a minimum grade of 9.5 and cross your fingers. Good luck either way and please let me know what the grade is if you do decide to send that bad boy to BGS.

Thanks all. I'm heading to Legends in GR, Mich on Monday for some advice about BGS. I'm a little nervous sending that card in a mag holder. Does BGS grade any more strictly if you give a min grade? Thanks for the help.

DONT send it in a magnetic, go on Beckett's website for instructions on how to send in cards. Penny sleeve + Card Saver sandwiched between pieces of cardboard taped up and shipped securely works every time for me. Not sure what your last sentence was asking but I have never gone the "request minimum grade" route but others on here have.
