Default 1/1 pricing help. Two cards.

Hi all. I'm new to the forums, but at 30, not new to the hobby. I stopped collecting in 05 and just started buying boxes and packs again this year. With that being said I purchased a box of 11 Lineage and 12 Topps Series Two in the same week. Surprisingly each box yielded a 1/1. Wondering if any of you senior members can help me on these. Thanks in advance!

Prince Fielder Printing Plate

Jose Reyes Own The Name Letter R

Sorry for crappy pics, just using my iPhone.

Printing plates normally don't command a huge premium, some people don't even consider them "true" 1/1s. I would estimate 15-25 on it.

The Reyes on the other hand is a "true" 1/1 and a very nice card. I'm not too sure on the set so I couldn't give you an estimate, but definitely more than the Fielder.

Would you be interested in trading the Jose? Awesome pulls.

That Reyes is sweet! Congrats on the pull. I had an "R" of Reyes a few years ago from the all star workout jersey that I ended up selling. I don't think you'd have any problem getting $200-$300 for it.

But is the Reyes a "true 1/1" if there are four other cards just like it, but with a different piece of fabric?

It's a valid argument, but I was leaning more towards making the point that printing plates are generally not nearly as wanted as a game used letter would be. Also the fact that is game used and not just a plate, I would still consider it a true 1/1.. but all this is going to do is confuse him.

Just me personally, I'd say the Fielder is about $20-$25, and the Reyes is $90. It's so hard to tell especially with the Reyes, but this card of players of similar quality have gone for about $90.

Between $30-$50 on the Fielder and I'm guessing anywhere between $80 and $225 on the Reyes.

That's a nice Reyes right there! I'd say around $35 on the Fielder & about $180 on Reyes

Wont even guess on the Reyes, and would have loved to have it a couple years ago.

As for the Fielder plate, 2 different ones from 2008 topps chrome have been listed at auction a couple times recently with start price of 14. and no bidders.

seems like most of his plates go for 15-25, with occasional outliers in the 35-50 range

I think you could get around 250 for the Reyes and 40, maybe 50 for Prince. So very cool cards there.

Just judging on sales/experience, the plate is about 20 or so (basically what everyone is saying)

For the Letter of Reyes, I will say 100-120. I sold a Curtis Granderson for 120 from Update this year, and lost out on a Longoria for around 100 this year too. Only the Hall of Famers seem to consistently get above 200. If selling on eBay, I would put 160 OBO and take the first triple digit offer you get.

Very nice pulls man. I agree with everyone saying about $20-$30 on the plate and around $100-150 on the patch.

your best bet is ebay with both.
Its hard to explain why some of the Prince plates go for 15 while others go for 50.
Player collector duking it out for plates they already have 1 or more from that set is likely.

heres the only comp I can find for reyes.
letter patch from All Star workout jersey.
99 start bid with bin of 150. Keep an eye on that , see where it ends.
yours should go for a bit more as its 4 color, but with him no longer being a Met,
again, I think youll have to hope for a couple player collectors duking it out.

Congtrats! Pretty dern cool to get that out of 2 boxes.
