Based on the completed auctions and what is left to be sold, it looks like he is going to make quite a bit on this strategy. Even if there are several folks who file chargebacks, it looks like he is going to do very well. My eyes glazed over trying to get a rough idea of how much he is going to make, but I am guessing mid 30s at least? Doesn't include whatever jumbo cases he will be getting as well as codes.

It's going to happen on some of those auto Gold + lots and chrome Orange + lots.

Watching these nobody prospect chrome lots sell for $0.50 per card ... Boomo's only concern is payment and feedback. We'll see how he fares.

He sold 220 Ice lots (one for each player). I don't think the winners of those 220 auctions are prepared to get at most / 6 cards. (Most likely 3-5 silver ice)

I was watching some of the Auto slots to try and hop in this break but because of work missed most of them, gave the Bruce Maxwell Auto Gold, Orange, Purple, Red, P/P slot a shot and won it for $51, now I can root for something while I watch this crazy big break lol

this is a really cool idea, i'd be nervous to do it with the ebay system, but looks to be really cool as far as card breaking/collecting/interest goes.......

Oof, nearly $500 for the both of 'em? That's pretty steep...

People are really overestimating the amount of autos they are probably going to get. Some of these lots went for insane amounts, like freaking nutso amounts.

$510 for the dual autos and inserts. Print run of 10 for each dual auto would mean around a 90% "chance" to hit just one. Another pretty penny.

Boomo has a huge payday. Looks like he will come out on top with this project. Couldn't pick a better time to list.

Man I lost sleep last night trying to decide on whether to bid on the Plawecki lots or not haha. One minute I was all, "I gotta do this, I've been waiting for his cards for months now" and the next, "No I feel like a junkie and really can't afford this right now."

In the end I let them all go. I feel like I'm gonna regret it, but I almost got in two car wrecks driving home today, and missed having dinner with a friend cause I was running late, and it just felt like a bad omen. Hopefully I can pick up some singles, and maybe the next time someone does a 50 case break of something I'll be in a new job that gives me more expendable income XD.

I had sold some cards in order to get ready for the auctions, but just spent it on a few Delgado cards I wanted instead. I really don't need to start a new collection obsession anyway, should just stick to having a few cards here and there and be happy.

I will say though, that I would have been a lot more inclined to bid if things hadn't been so broken up. It would be a lot more fun to be able to buy one auto lot and one chrome lot, and not know that if the super gets pulled I won't get it. (Cause no way could I afford the super lot.) That's part of the reason I didn't even snag some of the cheaper chrome lots, cause everytime an auto was pulled I wanted I would have been sad I didn't get that one too. Don't know how other buyers felt about that.

I've added up ALL autos ... here's Boomo's take:

Base/Ref/Blue Autos - $11,715.15
Gold/Orange/Purple/Red/Plate Autos - $7,144.46
Superfractor Autos - $1,925.00
Aflac Autos - $1,451.19
Futures Game Patches - $2683.86
Dual Autos - $510.00
Bowman Black Autos - $610.00
Harper Autos (estimated) - $600.00
Darvish Autos (estimated) - $400.00

TOTAL - $27,039.66

Add another 880 base auctions and 50 DieCut lots ... he may come out of this at over $45,000.

Did he sell the code cards? 12 percent of $45,000 would equate to about $5,400 in fees.

Lets just say he got these at $650 a case (don't know if that's to high or low)

32,500+5,400 = 37,900.

I'm just using the 45,000 number. He's looking at $7,100 profit... Add in the code cards at $1.50 a piece = 3,600. Subtract another 450 for fees on those...

$10,250 estimated profit. Just with quick guesses.

I honestly hope he makes a ton on it. Would definitely get some copycats and thus much more stuff available for buyers.

Thanks for the hard work, your auction give us lazy collectors a way of trying to get some of the player cards that we wanted the most when we buy and break cases ourselves, but without the headache of trying to dispose of the other no names and lesser known players. It is a gamble either way but this save us so much work.

Just another side question, in the auctions of the Futures game relics of players, you mention something about the autos which I can not find any information from the Checklists. Do you know something that we don't or just a misunderstand on my part ??

Again, Thanks for your hard work, hope it works out for all of us.

Take into account ebay fees, paypal fees, and govt taxes, you're looking much closer to break even.

This is an interesting numbers game.

If he takes in $10k from this, how many products/year can he bust with this level of interest (across all sports) and how many people can front $30k to bust this much wax?

I'd front the $$$ if I was somewhat assured of getting a $5k+ return on it. No-brainer.

If he had done this for 2011 Bowman Chrome (Harper mania with Lawrie/Hosmer autos) what would the Harper base/ref/blue slot have gone for?

$3k+??
