It's my understanding that if you do over 200 transactions in a year or if your total sales revenue is $20k+ then you would get a 1099-K from the payment processor (Paypal), pretty sure this meets both criteria.

Fees would be tax deductible, as would shipping costs, as would home office/mileage/ink for labels/etc.

I think tax liability could be offset by a chunk of deductions, or creative accounting.

you guys are all very good math wise, cept the one guy who says break even. No break even, easy money made. I did this this way for one reason. After running box breaks for 4 months, it amazed me how well they did as opposed to ripping wax and trying to recoup. So i figured if people would gamble on teams, why not players? i told some one helping me that this should do 45k by accident on a bad day, and it got there with 250 auctions left. not getting rich, wont be taking a cruise=, but a decent chunk of change for what will be a lot of work, fun, but hard. Also i know for 100% certain the guy who won the super wont do any kind of charge back, he is a real stand up guy and really liked the chance to gamble that way. He actually emailed me with 30 minutes to go and guaranteed he would win it and couldn't wait to see how he did. In the end its all about action, and people love action.

Yup, this was a great idea.

I would be willing to take action on the o/u of 3 competitors preselling using the same method next May.

Preselling base player lots was the norm in the late 90's/early 00's but that fell to the wayside as autos took precedent and big boys like mr.mem dropped out. Adding the "gamble" to presells could be the future. Not my cup of tea but the interest is obviously there.

Be careful Boomo. While the $$$ is gonna be $50k ish (and the profit very solid), you might be saddled with a lot of negative feedback. Even if this is 100% stand up ... some will feel cheated and eBay will not defend you.

Hell, if I don't get my expected 130 chrome per lot, 210 prospect paper, 310 RC paper ... WATCH OUT!!!!

It would be a lot more fun to be able to buy one auto lot and one chrome lot, and not know that if the super gets pulled I won't get it. (Cause no way could I afford the super lot.) That's part of the reason I didn't even snag some of the cheaper chrome lots, cause everytime an auto was pulled I wanted I would have been sad I didn't get that one too. Don't know how other buyers felt about that.

As the winner of both Plawecki auto spots and chrome thru gold spot, I'm glad you backed off. Including 20 cases of Plawecki autos from Houdini, I can't wait.

Wonder how he would have done if he just kept them as player lots that included everything. That would he easier to sort and ship, if you could make close to the same.

my fear is that he will get hammered with some people filing chargebacks, and at the end of the day ebay/paypal will side with the buyer if they get nothing despite the warnings in the listing themselves. good luck and have a ton of fun, also LMK if the valdespins go unpaid as I have 40 cases from houdini's 2 breaks that i would love to add another 50 cases too!!

Can you imagine the look on the ups guys face when he sees such I giant delivery lol. It's going to take a whole truck to ship the cases to his house. I want to see a photo of all the cases when they come in.
