Default You have $1000, what would you buy (cases/boxes)???

If you had an extra $1000 to spend right now, what cases and/or boxes would you purchase? Limited only to baseball.

Wait a few weeks for BDPP to cool off and snag a case. Probably pick up as many BDPP 12 boxes as possible with remaining funds

also at $1200 CASE (CURRENT PRICE) 2011 DONRUSS ELITE EE..... it's currently about $300 under cost and still has HUGE upside with the 6-10 autos per box and player content

I would get 2011 draft or wait until 2012 draft goes down and pick up a case of that

However many Tony Cingrani autos I could.

Midway through the 2013 season ... maybe 5?

Isn't $760 good for a case of 2012 Bowman Draft?

Last year (with a loaded draft class), 2011 BDPP fell to $600 for a weekend special in December. People were a lot higher on 2011's Class at the time as well. 2012 is not nearly as deep. I see 2012 BDPP falling to somewhere around the 600 a case range

Product is following patterns of hitting $85 plus a box. Buy a case now for $650 or less, keep the rest....

Why would you waste $1,000 on a case?

You could buy a heck of a lot of fantastic singles for that kind of money...

Because what he has is a $1000 Blowout Gift Card, lucky dog hit the Jackpot with the Cyber Monday promotion.

Make sure to pick up 2 things: something with good flip potential, and something you like for yourself. I don't collect baseball, so no specific suggestions for you. And Congrats!

You are right Deathgate. I was one of the lucky ones who got the $1000 GC in the Cyber Monday Deal. Just trying to figure out how to spend it and make some money back possibly. I never bought a case before, so this seems to be my best chance to get one.

You have any suggestions? I am a big prospecting fan like most people.

I think you'll see 2012 Draft case prices staying quite soft over the next few months.

you are going to lose money ripping the majority of the time.

Look at it this way. Whatever you buy, only cost you $169 not $1000. so whatever it is you buy you are going to pull more than $169 worth of stuff. You may not make money on $1000 but you WILL make money on $169.

Just choose something that you enjoy ripping and have fun.

Just thinking that a case of 2011 BDPP would be a fun break. There are some nice cards in the set and BO Cards has it for just under $1000 right now.

some pretty good players in 2010 BDPP as well, and also available for under that 1000 gift card..

Well, since you won 1k to spend, why not by boxes of a lot of different product for variety fun rather than just a case of 1 product.

Thinking about that also. Just trying to figure out what would get me the most bang for my buck. Playing with house money.

I'd probably buy a case of 2009 Topps Unique and something else. The case hits in that product are pretty awesome. But I'm not much of a prospector.

2010 and 2011 Draft are going to be better ROIs than 2012 IMO. If you're looking to flip, those are going to be your best bet

I'd personally buy a couple boxes of 2013 Tribute and 2013 Museum Collection + a fun box to bide my time. It'd be a huge (probably losing) bet but it'd sure be fun!
