Default HOF Class of 2013....Who Gets In?

Bonds
Clemens
Sosa
Biggio
Piazza
Schilling

Results will be out Jan 9th.

I say biggio and that's it...what say you?

Also, along with these newcomers, any holdovers?

E. Martinez maybe?

Biggio for sure. Piazza will be close along with Schilling. The other 3 shouldn't be even on the ballot.

I say Biggio and Piazza. Still pulling for Bernie Williams his second go on the ballot (it'll never happen)

Schilling had better not make it. He was not a HOF pitcher at all. hardly dominant.

-Larry Walker.

And Tim Raines while we're at it.

That is all.

I think Piazza deserves it. I'm crossing my fingers that Edgar can continue to make a climb. I would expect Jack Morris to get in as well, maybe Tim Raines, as they were closing the gap last year.

Biggio will be a lock and I think Baggs will get in by association.

Nobody. None of them deserve it. It is not the 'Hall of Pretty Good'.

There are already too many players there who do not belong there and people use them as arguments as to why other people who do not belong there should get in.

It's the Hall of FAME. Those players are the some most famous players of the era that they played. Although I don't want him to get in and a lot of his numbers are tainted, Bonds was one of the best hitters in the history of baseball. I think her is a little better than pretty good.

Fun to debate, just like the MVP, but in the end whoever gets in, whoever wins, is almost meaningless to me.

Can't take it seriously when we have guys like this voting:
"@olyphil Oh, the joy I will have snubbing Sosa, Bonds and Clemens (plus McGwire and Palmeiro, natch) on my HoF ballot. "

I didnt mean Bonds, he won't get in for other reasons. Biggio, Piazza...meh they were pretty good but not great.

If Bonds hadnt juiced, I agree, he's in first ballot.

Piazza was pretty good, not great? Your knowledge of the history of the catching position is severely lacking.

Bonds should get in on 1987 - 2000 alone. He began "doping" in 2001 according to many. His stats for a 14 year period should be PLENTY to get him in. Sure, take away his 2001+ stats for what that is worth.
He was a .300 hitter with 500 home runs with 400 steals and a better than .400 OBP. He was a 8 time gold glove OF with 3 NL MVP's and 9 All Star Appearances.

The Hall of Fame is not for character, it is for how good you were in the sport you played. There are countless names in the Hall who were no better a person than Bonds was.

Sosa - no, McGwire - no; but Bonds was GREAT before the "juice."

THIS!

If you want to REALLY break it down... our "favorites" like Ruth, Mantle, Cobb etc were NOT the pictures of morality... did they cheat? probably not (well.. if you ask their wives) ... but come on... they were no angels or high on character

Biggio will get in I'm thinking and so will Piazza. Piazza has the most home runs ever by a catcher and he was an RBI machine, too. He is one of the best catchers numbers wise ever.

I think Piazza's mullet should be on the ballot too!
