Default Topps and expired redemptions

I have an expired redemption of Dayan Viciedo Xfractor auto from 09 bowman chrome but it expired 8/31/12. It's only a few months. Anyone have good or bad news for me lol. What has been their policy? I know panini comes through but this is my first expired topps redemption. Thanks for any help

Yeah I guess that's my best bet. At least it's not a big loss if I don't get it. I lost out on a Adrian Peyerson rookie auto and that hurt

Not only won't they honor it, they will stamp it with one of these pointing to the expired date on the redemption and send it back to you...



They may as well use a different finger...

I tweeted them about an old redemption I found while going through some commons and they told me to send it in and they would see what they could do. That was about 6 months ago, so I would say you are out of luck.

omg! so funny. i just pulled the same card from a box of the black friday deals. i didn't even bother to ask, i knew the answer from past experiances with topps!!!

they won't honor it. Panini will, but not Topps.

I just sent it into Topps in a PWE with a polite note and got a decent auto back in a few weeks (08 BC Angel Villanoa auto for 10 Bowman Brandon Crawford)

Thanks, that's some encouraging news, I'm going to give it a try. I'll call first and then I'll send it even if they say no. Did you send it to the duryea address?

I sent them a expired redemption once. They mailed it back with a big red circle around the date. Topps apparently has hired my 6th grade math teacher in their redemption department.

Just an update, called topps today and they told me to send it in since its only 3 months expired. If they have the card they will send it, if not they'll send me something else. Better than nothing.

I think we all have had at some point, redemptions that are either A) super slow in getting back or B) you get the proverbial email stating "PICK SOMETHING ELSE AND YOU SHALL LIKE IT (you probably won't but we're going to make you like it anyway)"

Admittedly, Panini really is doing well with the redemptions, LEAF is running a pretty neat program, and heck, even UD had a program for expired redemptions.

Topps?
