Supposedly Cabrera will be moved by the end of the day (according to Cleveland media) to Arizona in one of two option deals…both obviously could have multiple parts…but in general
Cabrera for Trevor Bauer and Prospects Cabrera to AZ, Upton to Texas, Olt & Prospects to Cleveland I’m not a big “prospect” guy – I’m a Tribe season ticket holder – but I don’t follow the farm systems much. Bauer or Olt worth trading Cabrera? I realize the Tribe got Aviles and have Lindor in the system to play SS. If you had to take Olt or Bauer as the main cog in the deal which would you prefer? Thanks

It's all over Cleveland media today (for whatever that's worth) - but "sources" are saying they'd be shocked if Cabrera was an Indian tomorrow...
I don't follow baseball rumors as much as other Sports - so who knows - but I know they've had discussions with AZ previously about him.

I would prefer Bauer, would be a good trade for the Indians, and I suppose the Diamondbacks as well.

Bauer has good stuff, but AZ wants to get rid of him as he's been unwilling to change his approach to pitching, and apparently has an attitude issue. That being said, Cleveland could use young SP and obviously aren't going anywhere so why not move Cabrera?

Yet to happen this week, there may still time for Nashville to see a blockbuster. A variety of three-, four- and even five-team trades are in play at the winter meetings, mostly involving the same clubs and same principal players, according to major-league sources. The clubs: Arizona, Cleveland, Texas and Tampa Bay. The principal players: Diamondbacks right fielder Justin Upton, Indians shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera, Rays right-hander James Shields and, most likely, Texas prospects. One proposed deal, according to sources, would send Upton to Texas and Cabrera to Arizona, with Cleveland likely receiving a package of young talent, possibly including Texas infielder Mike Olt (Tampa Bay would not be part of that particular trade).

So far I've heard it's a four team trade:
Tex gets Upton and Jason Donald AZ gets Shields and Cabrera Cle gets Bauer and Olt Tb gets Choo There will obviously be a few more players involved but that's the structure of it so far. I heard Tyler Skaggs name being thrown around too but I don't know if that's with Bauer or in place of Bauer. |

Makes sense for the Rangers to go after Upton, then sign Grienke and let Hamilton walk.
I understand Tampa, but they need more than Choo just for Shields Cleveland wins in this deal, so does the Rangers. I can see prospects like Buckel, Sardinas, Odor etc being involved. Because essentially all Texas is giving up is Olt. |

I'm sure there are other players other teams are giving up as well. I could see this being a 12-16 player trade if all the pieces fall into place. |

point is, you can't just toss your prospects to the curb after just a few games or starts. |

Would love to see this get done...let's be honest, Aviles was acquired so this could happen. Trade Cabrera, land a pitcher (Tribe want Skaggs, D-Backs say Bauer), and let Aviles be the bridge to Lindor.
Love it. Make it happen, Anto!

If Upton goes to Texas, does that take them out of the running for J. Hamilton then? If I was a Cleveland fan, I would love either deal, obviously they aren't going to be a contender for a few years, so getting a top prospect for Cabrera sounds like a good deal.
