Sign some veteran pitchers and improve that bullpen to the max!

The line-up is going to be something a long the lines of this I think

CF-Aaron Hicks
SS-Brian Dozier
C-Joe Mauer
LF-Willingham
1B-Morneau
DH-Doumit
3B-Trevor Plouffe
2B-Jamey Carroll
RF-Darin Mastrioanni/Joe Benson

I would still like them to get a legit #1 starter. I like that they have at least made the effort to get some pitching.

I assume they will sign one pitcher in the 2 year, $20 million range and then pick up 1 or 2 guys that were non-tendered. I'll also go out on a limb and predict that they will trade Morneau for a 3/4 starter and a decent prospect. Opening day lineup:

1) Aaron Hicks CF
2) Jamey Carroll 2B
3) Joe Mauer C
4) Josh Willingham LF
5) Ryan Doumit DH
6) Trevor Plouffe 3B
7) Chris Parmelee 1B
8) Darrin Mastroianni RF (until Arcia is ready)
9) Pedro Florimon SS

Starter: Scott Diamond

I don't think they could get anything more than a bag of balls for Morneau right now. Willingham will be traded yet. This won't be the opening day line-up, but hope it will be the line-up at some point in 2013.

1) Aaron Hicks CF
2) Eddie Rosario 2B
3) Mauer C
4) Morneau 1B
5) Doumit DH
6) Parmalee RF
7) Plouffe 3B
8) Arcia LF
9) Florimon/Dozier SS

SP:
1) Diamond
2) Worley
3) Gibson
4) FA
5) FA

Really like the fact they traded Revere, and will still root for Span in DC.

That being said I believe they will have Liriano back, along with maybe one more Starter (4 or a 5)being added. WIllingham will be dealt near trade deadline, when we are dead in division.

I want them to grow a pair and start drafting power arms. Not some control guy that can just hit his spot. I feel this years draft overall was good could have been great if we went with Appel as R #1 pick. And signed him

Also feel way to early still for Gibson @MLB and if they were gonna move Morneau they would have long before now IMO

gergs1134, as much as I would love to see it there is absolutely no chance we see Rosario this year. Sano either.

I want to see Dozier step in to a bigger role... maybe a 280/10/50 stat line with 25 stolen bags? I also think this is the year that Mauer really moves out from behind the plate. Maybe to 1st or 3rd? I think we can trade Morneau for another pitcher so it could look like this:

1. CF Aaron Hicks
2. SS Brian Dozier
3. C/1B Joe Mauer
4. LF Josh Willingham
5. 3B Trevor Plouffe
6. DH/C Ryan Doumit
7. 1B Chris Parmelee
8. Darrin Mastrioni(Might have butchered that)
9. Jamey Carroll, 2B (Would rather see somebody else here)

SP1: Scott Diamond, LHP
SP2: Vance Worley, RHP
SP3: Kyle Gibson, RHP
SP4: FA?
SP5: FA?

I really like Joe Saunders, John Lannan, and (If we can afford it) Anibal Sanchez.

Would love to see Arcia in the outfield this season though...

I don't think we will either, but hope he jumps AA-AAA quickly. If he takes to
2B well he will jump AA-AAA quickly. I do think we will see him earlier than Sano.

Do what the Twins always do: trade all the star players for prospects and then trade the prospects who turn out to be good ball players for more prospects! The twins are where pro teams send their prospects to play pro ball for awhile and then trade for them back! Worst ownership in pro sports bar none!

I'm serious when I ask, I'd like examples. Other than Santana, I can't think of a star player recently that they traded away.

Just my opinion, Hicks isn't ready for MLB. And that is coming from one of his biggest fans.

You are so right.........

Sorry, unless you can give a couple of examples, you've just said one of the most asinine things I've seen on here in a long time. Santana was the one big trade the Twins have made in the last decade. I think you have them confused with the Marlins.

My guess is that we will not see Sano or Rosario until after the all star break if at all unless one of them is just playing out of their minds. Hicks has a definate shot at CF. Also we will probably see Arcia sooner than later. I think it will shape up something like this:

1) Aaron Hicks CF
2) Jamey Carroll 2B
3) Joe Mauer C
4) Josh Willingham LF
5) Justin Morneau 1B
6) Ryan Doumit DH
7) Chris Parmelee RF
8) Trevor Plouffe 3B
9) Pedro Florimon SS

Opening Day Starter: Scott Diamond
Starter: Vance Worley
Starter: FA
Starter: Cole De Vries
Starter: Kyle Gibson

Oh yes! I forgot about De Vries! I think he has some potential! I don't think we'll see Rosario or Sano this year ether

Add 2 pitchers. (Shaun Marcum, Joe Saunders, Brett Myers)

I never want to see DeVries, Blackburn, Vasquez start another game

Trade Morneau away. Get Derek Holland (if you can). Morneau for Matt Barnes?? Wish Billy Smith didn't screw us over for 4 years and turn us into what we are now. Overall I'm pretty happy with what we've done so far just need to pick up a few free agent SP or trade again for one.

I would place a large wager that Morneau remains with the team through the end of his contract. Unless the Twins really want to dump his salary for nothing, they are going to have to hope that he returns to a semblance of what he was.

Willingham is the only other decent trade piece they have. He is relatively cheap and, coming off a career year at 34 years old.

I would rather trade Morneau than Willingham. Plain and simple.
