One year I made packages with all my base cards and then sent boxes to about 3 different hospitals! It was pretty awesome experience, because I received several thank you letters! One especially made me feel good when a letter came from a women who had a nephew in the hospital and she got some of the packages of cards for him and he was so excited!
Just my two cents! |

Base lots often sell well on eBay, and will sometimes surprise you. I would recommend that you group them by set though. Eg. "2012 Topps Update Base Lot (x2500) Cards". Then I just copy a checklist into a Word document and enter the quantities of each before pasting into the description. Takes some time, but when listed like that you will sometimes get as much as $75-$100 per lot. Definitely worth a try.

If they are all from the past couple of years people will buy them and take the time to piece it out (like me) but if its all 80's 90's stuff your best off giving it to a charity

I heard a friend talking at work the other day of someone he knew who dontated them to some charity. The charity asked him the value of each card he said .10, he had about 5,000 cards. So they gave him a receipt $500 in donation that he was able to use on his taxes. Im not sure if this is true or not.

Keep all of them in their own seperate box. Sort them out. You can have a lot of fun organizing them on rainy days and looking at them with your kids (or future kids, don't know about you lol).
You could also save the good/young players and maybe get the card signed some day. |
