Wow, Arizona sure sold low on Bauer. Even if he fell out of favor with the organization, he was definitely worth more than that. As a Tigers fan I'm not happy with how well Cleveland appears to have made out here, getting Stubbs as well.

Only downside...I have to pick up an auto of him now. Who has one for me?

Not sure about highway robbery?

Stubbs and Mark Reynolds should combine for 400 K's and both should hit about .230.

Bauer is a HUGE clubhouse problem...anything that looks too good to be true, IS too good to be true.

Sure, they gave up Choo, but he would have been gone after the season anyways.

Being a Reds fan, seeing Stubbs leave makes me smile

So if Choo was going to leave, which I agree he was, then getting Bauer for essentially nothing (if you think he only had one more year) is highway robbery.

The Indians gave up absolutely nothing other than a gas-can reliever, two 4A guys, and a year of Choo...for Stubbs (meh) and a top young arm. Even if Bauer doesn't pan out, it's STILL a great trade.

LOL! Seeing all the players they had available in the draft last year to call an audible for DIDI! Especially after only 1 season where he dominated most of the year in the minors mind you, but still.

I don't think you understand.

You are getting Drew Stubbs

He WILL be starting in CF

He WILL strikeout 180+ times and have a .280 OBP batting leadoff

And we Indians fans don't expect #@#@#@#@ from this season anyway...so not a big deal.

For one year. Who cares. 1 year of Stubbs for Trevor Bauer. That's a steal.

This. Arizona couldn't wait to get rid of him. Apparently an attitude problem, and unwillingness to change his pitching approach despite his lack of MLB success when called up. Pitching coach tried to get him to adjust his approach and he basically said no.

Cincy got the leadoff guy they needed, Zona got a ss that they needed, and the Tribe got a mullett in Stubbs and a question mark with great upside in Bauer. I think on paper it works for everyone.

All I see is Bauer's 13 BBs in 16 big league innings.

Odds are he is more Todd Van Poppel than Roy Halladay

He's 21 years old. Most of us were bone heads at 21. If Arizona gave up on him after 4 GAMES and wasting their 3rd pick on him, then I place the blame solely on their shoulders. Arizona coaches/management dropped the ball.

Bingo.

I swear its like anti-Cleveland around here. 9 months ago people were buying Bauer like it was going out of style - 9 months later he's just a punk 21 year old that will never change.

As an Indians fan Im thrilled we got anything for Choo when he's out of here after next year. But the Indians luck with trading for big name prospects like Matt Laporta, Andy Marte, and Alex Escobar is making me cautiously excited. The Indians have had a lot better luck with developing mid-tier prospects like Choo.

Carlos Santana, Sizemore, Phillips...

I like the trade for Cleveland. However, when a team willingly gives up on a supposed potential top of the rotation starter it's got to make you wonder, no?

What's crazy is...look what Denard Span brought, with three years of service. Choo brought more than that for less service and not a big difference, IMO.

I'd love to hear how you know the bolded part....The Diamondbacks also soured on Justin Upton, maybe, just maybe, it's the Dbacks, and not the players?

No - not at age 21 - it doesn't make me wonder at all. I makes me think AZ just made a dumb ass trade because they wanted a SS for the past forever.

Another good post - AZ sure seems to have a lot of "clubhouse problems" with their younger stars...

Perhaps. Guess we will find out how Bauer does in Cleveland. Pretty huge red flag IMO though.
