After two days trying to figure out what I pulled out of 2007 EXQUISITE ROOKIE SIGNATURES. I got a call from UD and this email. I picked the Albert Einstein & Thomas Edison card. I was the fifth to and last so far to pick. If you had a choice and Roger Maris & Babe Ruth ,John F. Kennedy & Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis ,Marilyn Monroe & John F. Kennedy,Robert E. Lee & Ulysses S. Grant were gone. Who would have you picked?

I think you made a solid choice since IMO these would be the hardest to obtain due to age/availability:
X - Albert Einstein & Thomas Edison 8 - King George V & Queen Mother If I were picking to keep: 9 - Princess Diana & Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Great pull!!!! |

I would think Princess Diana & Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis would be the best to resell....

With Monroe/ JFK (re-sale value) and Ruth/Maris (my own PC) gone, I'd have went with Cash / Elvis. Is there ANYONE, alive or dead with a bigger following ever ??? I think Princess Di would generate huge interest as well.

I think I would of picked the same one you did (Albert Einstein & Thomas Edison). Both sigs would be very old, both are legendary. And being a science guy myself, the card would be just cool! My dad would take anyting with Elvis, and my wife would without a doubt take Princess Di

i think the ruth maris would be one of the worse choices. each year a good few ruth/maris autos are produced.
the einstein/edison sounds AWESOME the elvis/cash is also good Either the elvis or Diana Would be worth the most id say. are you going to sell it. im guessing a 5-7,000$ price for the Einstein/edison or keep it and have a center piece to a very strong collection? |

Einstein/Edison, HANDS down is the BEST pick of that lot. I don't know of any two human beings in that list that contributed to our Society as well or as more than those two did.
My Second pick would be the King and Queen. Another nice cut would have been Steve Jobs/Bill Gates; two Pioneers in their own right I would have a Woody for the next month ot two, knowing I am actually going to get two of the biggest genius' of our century, or millenia for that matter! CONGRATS! |

ALOTO I picked second. Trust me...I had thought about it for the entire night...I was split between the Einstein and Edison and the Ruth...My pick was strictly as a collector and not for profit (staying in my PC)...just couldn't pass up on a Ruth 1/1 cut auto as I am a Huge sports fan and I would consider Ruths auto the best auto of ay athlete past or current....with that being said...I still think about the Einstein and Edison.

As much of a baseball fan as I am, and would ABSOLUTELY LOVE a Ruth auto in my PC - that would have been about #15 or later in my list.
Select a more rare auto, sell it, buy a Ruth SINGLE AUTO (i.e., without Maris - higher value, IMHO), and probably have a few grand left over to add to the PC collection?? |
