Default I can't believe how cheap some 5 Star autos are.

Just amazing me how cheap you can pick some some Hall of Fame players.. granted it's tough to find one that isn't eaten up on the edges and corners... but they are out there.

I love it!! For my PC I don't even mind the edges/corners that much for the prices I am paying

Anybody think the prices on these singles will climb when the season returns? These things are dirt cheap, and I'm loving it

I keep eying these ... going to try to snatch one up soon.

Picked up a Chipper /150 auto for $38 shipped the other day ... then a Terry Pendleton silver /99 auto for $12 last night. Trying to build a Braves "case", lol. Crazy how cheap this stuff is. At first I really questioned the quality of the cards (chipping, etc.), but now -- and I know this might sound crazy -- I think it actually adds a rustic look to the cards. These are cards I would never ever ever send in for grading, but I love the way they look.

Sure I will, but at a profit of course...

I did put my Uggla up for Houdini's giveaway, so you might want to get into that.

I think values will climb. It's hard tot ell though. The market was oversaturated with Five Star and it's hard to tell whether collectors will ever latch on. Condition on the signed relic cards seem to be the best so I'll focus my funds on some of those. I do think the base cards will be the cards that longer term have a lot of value. There are only 80of each so set collectors down the road may look at this set like the early basketball Exquisite sets.

IMO the condition issues will prevent this set from being anything more than today's prices. A beat to sh!t card isn't worth a premium no matter who signed it.

I want a Frank Thomas but they seem to be fairly pricey. For me, at least. I'll get one eventually.

The fact that they will be releasing the set again next year will help maintain the values on the better condition cards this year. BGS probably hates the set due to few grading opportunites, but no one is going to lose sleep over that.

If you watched 2011 five star football, it was to be expected. Cam five star is just about his cheapest auto.
