Annibal Sanchez to the Tigers 5 Years $80 Million
Dave Dumbrowskee over pays yet again! Annibal Sanchez has signed with the Tigers for a $16 Million average per year contract. Uggh, talk about overpaying and do not give me the best available free agent pitcher argument. Stupid deals like these impact the going rate for all 150+ pitchers that are better than Sanchez.

Agent Gene Mato said Anibal Sanchez "left money on the table" from an offer from another club at winter meetings. It wasn't the Cubs.

Did you miss the other thread from last week when it happened?
It's quite simple Mr. I wants to win at all costs before he passes. So they figured the second best free agent sp on the market in a very inflated market for $80mil is worth it.

Illitch has the "at all costs" part down, but definitely not the "win" if he's going to massively overpay his 4th starter and allow Leyland to run this team into the ground for yet another year. Either he'll learn his lesson or he'll just have to live without that World Series title.

Man the Debbie downers are out in force... Just like with cards the market sets the price. And as you can see from Calvin's post above he supposedly even left money on the table.
