Default Help me find: 99 Upper Deck Piece of History Ernie Banks Auto 500 HR club /14 BAT

Hello all. For the past 5+ years I have been searching high and low to find a 1999 UD APOH Ernie Banks Autograph 500 HR club Bat card #'d out of only 14. These cards in general are almost impossible to find, but there have been a few Ted Williams /9 that have surfaced, as well as a good amount of Willie Mays /24, Frank Robinson /20, Hank Aaron /44, and even a Babe Ruth /3 over the past few years.

I am making this thread in my quest to acquire, or even just find an Ernie Banks that would be available for sale. I am willing to pay a great amount for it. If anyone has any leads and can help me find one, I will throw them a very nice card out of my collection at their choice. Roughly $100-200 in value.

I can't even find a scan of a Banks anywhere, if anyone has one, throw it up!

Thanks!

Good luck to you. I have been hunting one of these down for years myself. I have seen one some up in a private collection and it was only for show.

I am guessing the 2 Banks on eBay are actually the "normal" variation of this card?

Yea, those are the non-autographed. They pop up fairly often.

Good luck , seriously. This is one of the harder ones in one of the most popular baseball autographed sets of all time. Simply beautiful cards.

Just because it's Ernie Banks and not Ted Williams or Mantle, I'm thinking that some potential sellers are simply not convinced that they can get "a great amount" for it. I'm speculating that if someone is willing to publicly advertise that they are willing to pay something silly like $10k for it, a few would magically become available...

Good luck to you! At one point, I had seven of the non-auto'd version from the set and really want to start the collection back up, but that is some serious time and coin investing to hunt them down.

I truly hope you can find one. I couldn't even find a picture! Keep your eyes peeled to eBay and maybe try to check out some of the more higher-profile shows if you live around an area that hosts. If you can't go, see if one of the board members can spot it for you.

Yes, I think maybe also the guys with the /14 Banks think they can still make the set. He seems like the threshold point for where the Autos seem to get really low #'d. After him is Williams at 9.

I couldn't put up $10k for one, but I'm pretty sure I'd pay around the $3k area. Totally agree that none of the potential sellers would be convinced they'd get a great amount for it. The last 2 Williams at auction didn't crack $10k for either.

Ty for the post, and if anyone ever sees one in the future, please let me know.
