Bryce Harper Draft Super

So I have gotten offers of $1000-$2000 between here And ebay. I'm contemplating grading and holding this in my pc for a while. IF Harper turns out to be the Stud that he has been Hyped out to be, what's this card worth? I would have to move some other items out of my of to justify it this. What are your thots.

This. What often happens is that second year chrome stuff (I guess third year in Harper's case) sells well after one's rookie season, as buyers don't make the immediate distinction in value between rookie cards and second year cards. The realization generally comes into effect a couple months after release, and you will see second year chrome cards finally decrease.

Even if Harper is successful, I doubt it maintains that high level of value.

Ok so tell me what you think about this. LCS owner is suggesting that because of the card and the circumstances of how I acquired it that with his help it/I will end up in a Beckett Supercollector issue ( or something like that) and the publicity will drive the price up. He also suggested that selling it pre season, or in season should bump the value up a little more as well. Now I have a SOLID $2000 offer that I can take right now. I DO NOT need the money right now .

Do you buy this argument?

You have a $2000 offer? I'd take that all day long. You didn't expect to hit a 2 hundo card let alone 2K. Take the money and don't look back, like others said, do not get greedy. Maybe it would see a slight spike in prices if he does well this spring. Or he may blow an ACL. Don't try to predict the future. I wish I never sold my Darin Ruf's. I got $20 total for everything I sold. Now I may of gotten $200+. Oh well, I sold it and can't dwell on what could of been.

And no, I don't buy that argument. Also, I would take some money and buy his 2011 Bowman Auto's.

Depends if you like holding inventory or not. $2K is a very good price. Sure you might get more. You might not. Bird in the hand and all that.

OTOH, this guy did give you the box for free, if he wants some free pub from Beckett, why not? It would be a nice thank you for him.

This is part of the angle he was working. Publicity for his shop and my card. I would love to help him out.

Would u get in a Beckett? Maybe but remember a lot of card shops do deeds like this so they prob hear it a lot.

I would either sell now for $2k or grade and sell at spring training...the scan makes it look like its very good for a 9.5 or possible 10. Since your not stressing for cash I would grade and hold that's just me

Dude, take the $2K!!!! Chances are you will never get a better offer and it will not go up in value. Harper will never be as popular as he is right now

First, you wouldn't be a "super collector", you'd be in the section where they talk about the top pulls of the month. You could sell it and still send the story into Beckett with a pic to help out the shop owner. If they like the story, they'd feature you whether you've sold the card or not.

As far as the publicity getting you more money, I doubt it. I think most, if not all, serious Harper collectors are savvy enough to check Ebay for that card. They probably have an alert for it. I seriously doubt they'd rely on a Beckett story to tell them the card is available.

Take the 2K for your 3rd year Harper non auto card.

Lcs owner is a certified PSA grader and he's been spot on with his suggestions of which of my cards I should grade in the past and what grades they would get. I'm taking the card to him tomorrow for him to look at.

Dan, I think I agree with this. I mean who reads becket anymore anyways? I may just do it to help out the LCS owner. Cause it will definitely drive traffic for him.
