You need to get your eyes checked.

Cool to see something good come out of it..

Because value wise that product is awful..

Would not be shocked to see it in the 40-45 dollar range very soon...

I would almost guarantee this is fake..

if we could see the back of the card we could tell for sure.

I owned one along time ago before I even collected cards. My grandpa gave it to me. I sold it in 2002 it was in better condition then this but this pic is not giving me confidence of its authenticity. Sorry

This is a copy.
Sorry to whoever pulled it.

However, was Panini advertising this as real?
May sound dumb on the surface.. But perhaps they threw some repops of iconic cards in the product for the 'cool' factor.
Again, I don't know what their adverts said about the product other than the fact that you can pull a piece of horse blanket.. Or horse saddle.. Or horse meat... You know, baseball-type things like that

Basically, apparently an original buyback of a 1930s or 1940s card is a case hit in Golden Age, so that was advertised as a real, authentic buyback.

If it comes back fake, thats horrible.

This is straight from the sell sheet.

Historic Buybacks
Find an historic baseball card from the 1930s or 1940s in each case of 2012 Golden Age - including Goudey Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig!
Looks like Panini might be in some deep s**t..........

I dunno about millions.. but a class action for the MSRP on that product should be done for sure.

I would guesstimate the average MSRP on a single product is in the 500k-1 million range. A massive fraud/mistake that probably encouraged the buying of this product is worthy of suit. I can't see punitive damages in a case like this.. It's not like the OP's buddy can claim a loss of money he never had. (although he can try)

Anyone know what happened when UD was found to have a fake Ruth in a SP legendary cuts product?

well say it is fake, how do you prove it was pack pulled without a video, is it stamped anywhere on it, that may be the way they can get around it, I could go buy a bunch of fakes and then say i pulled them from this product.

Each box has a serial number

That's probably why Panini didn't include a "Congratulations you have just pulled an original 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth Baseball card!" certification.

Unless something like that was in the product. If there was, that changes everything.

I thought the same thing.. Panini is safe in this deal... It will be really hard to prove they didn't pull a real one. If it is the one in the pic so sorry.

I understand that but that dosent mean they know whats in the box, even if they do, if the card dosent have any type of marking you cant prove it was that card from the box i would assume

I saw that card first hand today! It's a great card with nice eye appeal. Congrats to the new owner!

Means nothing.
UD put in some Ruth/Cobb/ cut that were proven to be fakes.

If card is proven to be pulled and was a fake. Panini I'm sure would replace the card for the customer. Not some class action law suit would come about. How stupid is that. All these lawyer happy people.
