That needs to be slabbed.. cards like that should be preserved.

Even a PSA 1 is 1K. I don't see why it shouldn't be slabbed.

I wonder about this as well. I'd trust Panini to pick an ungraded card over joe schmo but this is one of the most faked cards in the industry. I sure hope they got it authenticate before they threw it in the product...

Maybe it is my imagination but I am seeing heavy print dots that do not appear on the original. My opinion is that this card is questionable at best. I would send it to PSA just to be sure.

I would have said the same if the edges didn't have so much detail on them.

OP.. tell your friend to keep a copy of this thread, a receipt from where he bought it, and the box itself (I assume it has a serial number?)... then try to get it graded. If it comes back fake... SUE THE CRAP OUT OF PANINI

I worked in a card shop and had a complete set of nm 33 goudey's come in the front door in the late 80's. The Ruth did not have that texturing appearance. The goudey's are small though so the enlarging may be responsible for the texturing.

no its definitely the same pic.. just a different resolution than the slabbed examples.

The Ruth did not have that texturing appearance. The goudey's are small though so the enlarging may be responsible for the texturing.
